Estimating Manager
Purpose
Manage the coordination between sales, tool shops, and customers. Accurate quotes to a known scope of work that wins business after careful and strategic consideration of quote requirements.
Key Results
  • Quotes are submitted on time and without error
  • Finance receives all required data when kicking off a new program
  • Implement processes to streamline the quoting process from our suppliers to our client and then to our customers
  • Be a key contributor to our growth
Job Duties
  • Manage quoting process from beginning to end
  • Determine key variables for cost and other estimates
  • Obtain & review offers and quotes by client's supply base.
  • Understand who should quote on which projects or parts based on capability, complexity, capacity, timing
  • Submit RFQs and data to tool shops
  • Manage the Pipedrive system as a strong tool for quoting and forecasting
  • Meet with Account Managers and drive them to understand the Scope and provide information
  • Ensure we have required quoting data from customer / sales rep
  • Consolidate received quotes for review
  • Make sure we have a competitive edge when quoting
  • Meet with CAD and prepare Sims where you feel it is needed
  • Use the resources at the client to win business
  • Identify additional prospects to grow customer base
  • Update sales dashboard weekly with data from Pipedrive
  • Manage and quote all engineering changes
  • Oversee supplier capacity tracking
  • Build relationships with key customers (repeat business) and key suppliers so that you can get participation to your targets and payment plan
  • Create analytical database to access historical cost and revenue trends by die class
  • Manage customer product data - Save in dedicated SharePoint folder -
  • Use sourcing selection, Margin, and timing to create quote to the customer
  • Submit quote to the customer
  • Update Pipedrive with quote activity and amounts
  • Respond to supplier and customer needs as required outside of normal business hours
