Job description

Are you a driven sales professional who thrives in the field and enjoys building long-term relationships with commercial customers. We are seeking an experienced Outside Sales Representative to develop new business opportunities and expand our presence throughout the Birmingham market. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in transportation, fleet maintenance, heavy equipment, industrial supplies, logistics, or related industries who understands the value of delivering solutions-not just selling products.

What You'll Do New Business Development Identify and pursue new business opportunities with commercial fleets, logistics providers, transportation companies, contractors, and industrial customers throughout the Birmingham region. Build and maintain a strong pipeline of prospective accounts through regular field visits and networking. Consultative Sales Conduct fleet service evaluations to identify operational challenges such as downtime, maintenance costs, and reliability issues.

Develop customized preventative maintenance and fleet service solutions tailored to each customer's needs. Profit-Focused Selling Prepare quotations and proposals that deliver value while maintaining strong margins. Negotiate and close profitable service agreements.

Territory Management Maintain a visible presence throughout the territory by regularly visiting customer facilities and job sites. Develop and execute strategies to consistently grow market share. CRM & Pipeline Management Utilize Pipedrive CRM to manage customer interactions, track opportunities, and forecast sales performance.

Maintain accurate records and follow-up schedules. Cross-Functional Collaboration Work closely with service managers and parts personnel to ensure smooth onboarding and exceptional customer service for new accounts. Qualifications Required 3+ years of outside business to business sales experience.

Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Reliable late-model truck or SUV suitable for professional client visits.

Ability to travel throughout the Birmingham area. Preferred Experience Commercial transportation or fleet maintenance. Heavy-duty diesel repair.

Logistics or supply chain services. Industrial equipment or construction-related sales. Fleet management or aggregates industry.

Additional Strengths Understanding of gross profit, value-based pricing, and maintaining healthy margins. Existing relationships within the Birmingham industrial and transportation markets are highly desirable. Self-motivated professional who enjoys being in front of customers rather than behind a desk.
