Position Purpose

The Manager of Grants is responsible for the management, coordination, and oversight of all Mercy Care Atlanta grant activities, including identifying funding opportunities, leading proposal development, and ensuring compliance with reporting requirements. Reporting to the Director of Development, this role plays a critical part in advancing Mercy Care's mission by securing and sustaining philanthropic and governmental funding.

What You Will Do

  • Lead the full lifecycle of grant management, including research, writing, submission, and reporting

  • Identify and pursue new funding opportunities aligned with organizational priorities

  • Collaborate with internal leadership and program teams to develop compelling proposals

  • Track grant deliverables, deadlines, and compliance requirements across multiple funding sources

  • Analyze program data to support impact reporting and evaluation efforts

  • Prepare clear, concise reports and presentations for funders and internal stakeholders

  • Supervise and develop team members as applicable

  • Foster strong relationships with external partners, funders, and community stakeholders

  • Promote Mercy Care's mission, values, and culture in all interactions

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field required

  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in philanthropic and/or governmental grant writing

  • Demonstrated success managing complex projects and influencing decision-making

  • Exceptional organizational, analytical, and communication skills

  • Strong written and verbal communication with the ability to tailor messaging to diverse audiences

  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and donor databases (e.g., Blackbaud CRM preferred)
