About the Opportunity

The Manager, Leadership Development, Growth Initiatives plays a critical role in designing, implementing, and scaling leadership development experiences that strengthen leadership capability across the Boys & Girls Club Movement.

Reporting to the Director, Leadership Development, this individual contributor role is ideal for a learning and development professional who brings a strong foundation in instructional design, facilitation, learning operations, and stakeholder collaboration, paired with a builder mindset and comfort working in evolving environments.

This role supports key growth initiatives aligned to BGCA's strategic priorities, including innovative leadership development products and experiences such as Blue Door Academy. The ideal candidate is energized by opportunities to build scalable learning experiences, create operational infrastructure, and support leaders navigating growth and change.

You will partner across teams and stakeholders to develop engaging learning experiences, onboarding strategies, leadership programs, and scalable systems that increase organizational capacity and strengthen leader effectiveness across the Movement.

Responsibilities

What You'll Do

Design Leadership Development Experiences

  • Design and implement engaging leadership development programs aligned to organizational priorities and leadership competencies
  • Manage end-to-end instructional design for leadership and professional development experiences, including needs analysis, content development, facilitation, implementation, evaluation, and continuous improvement
  • Develop learner-centered experiences utilizing adult learning principles and multi-modal learning approaches
  • Research emerging trends in leadership development, learning strategy, and facilitation to continuously strengthen program effectiveness
  • Contribute to scalable onboarding strategies and learning pathways for new and emerging leaders

Build Learning Infrastructure & Operational Excellence

  • Manage Learning Management System (LMS) administration, learner participation tracking, reporting, and learning operations
  • Develop scalable systems, processes, and tools that support leadership development growth initiatives
  • Monitor participation, engagement, and completion metrics to support leadership visibility and continuous improvement efforts
  • Support onboarding infrastructure and learner engagement strategies for newly hired or promoted Club leaders
  • Help strengthen the operational foundation for innovative learning experiences and leadership programs

Collaborate Across the Movement

  • Build and maintain strong cross-functional relationships with internal partners, subject matter experts, and Movement stakeholders
  • Partner across departments to develop customized learning experiences and leadership resources
  • Ensure enterprise priorities and strategic initiatives are embedded across leadership development offerings
  • Promote leadership development initiatives internally and externally to strengthen awareness, engagement, and participation
  • Contribute to learning measurement and evaluation strategies that demonstrate impact and organizational effectiveness

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum of five years of experience in leadership development, organizational development, talent development, learning & development, or related fields
  • Experience managing end-to-end instructional design and facilitation for leadership or professional development programs
  • Experience administering and leveraging Learning Management Systems (LMS) to scale and measure learning initiatives
  • Experience designing learning experiences utilizing instructional design methodologies and adult learning principles
  • Experience in  facilitation, communication, presentation, and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and collaborate across stakeholders without direct authority
  • Strong project management, organization, and relationship-building capabilities
  • Experience operating in fast-paced, evolving, or growth-oriented environments is highly valued
  • Experience supporting leadership development initiatives within nonprofit, education, consulting, or mission-driven organizations is a plus

Work Environment & Travel

  • Hybrid/remote work in the Atlanta office on Tuesdays and Wednesdays
  • Travel estimated at 10-20%, including occasional weekends depending on program schedules and events
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license
  • Ability to travel by air, train, or automobile as needed

Compensation

The salary range for this role is $86,483 to $103,104. BGCA takes into consideration a combination of a candidate's education, training and experience, as well as the position's scope and complexity, the discretion and latitude required for the role and other external and internal data when establishing a salary level. We are highly invested in every employee's total well-being and offer a substantial and comprehensive total rewards package.
