Job description

Overall Summary:

The Manager of Quality plays a critical leadership role in overseeing the quality function within the organization. This position is responsible for managing a quality lead and a team of quality auditors to ensure that products and processes consistently meet internal standards and customer expectations. The Quality Manager will collaborate closely with operations teams to drive continuous improvement, solve quality-related problems, and make informed decisions regarding product acceptance.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

·       Lead, mentor, and develop the quality team, including a Team Lead and Quality Auditors across multiple shifts.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

·       Analyze quality data and trends to identify systemic issues and opportunities for improvement.

·       Work with operations teams to address and resolve quality-related problems, ensuring alignment between quality and production goals.

·       Make decisions on product acceptance, including final disposition of products based on established criteria and standards.

·       Develop, implement, and maintain quality management systems, policies, and procedures.

·       Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) as necessary.

·       Monitor and report on key quality metrics, presenting findings and recommendations to senior management.

·       Create and maintain cost of quality reporting, metrics, and action plans.

·       Ensure compliance with internal standards, customer requirements, and regulatory guidelines.

·       Facilitate audits (internal, external, and customer) and support audit readiness activities.

·       Promote a culture of quality and continuous improvement throughout the organization.

·       Stay current with industry best practices, quality tools, and relevant regulations.

·       Manage payroll, PTO tracking, and scheduling for direct reports. 

·       Perform other related duties as assigned. 

Required Skills & Competencies:

·       Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities; proficiency in quality data analysis tools.

·       Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.

·       Familiarity with quality standards such as ISO 9001, Six Sigma, 8D.

·       Experience with statistical process control and control plan creation and analysis

·       Experience with internal and external audits and regulatory compliance.

·       Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities.

 

Education & Experience:

·       Bachelor’s degree in Quality Management, Engineering, or related field (Master’s degree preferred).

·       Minimum of 5 years’ experience in quality management or a related role, preferably in a manufacturing or production environment.

·       Proven leadership skills with experience managing teams.

 Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work 8 hours consecutively. 
  • Presence on production floor during key activities.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.  
  • Daily onsite work required. 

·       Occasional travel may be required for training, audits, or supplier visits.

Salary: 

The starting salary range for this position is $80,000-$110,000.

At IWCO, base pay is determined by job-related knowledge, skills, credentials, and experience, along with factors such as role scope and location.
