EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Full-time

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The Coordinator for Event Management & Media Support is responsible for the planning, coordination, and execution of all aspects of athletic event operations and game-day management. This includes hiring, training, and supervising student workers; communicating with visiting teams, game officials, and event personnel; creating an engaging and professional game-day atmosphere; and addressing operational and crowd management needs.

In addition to game-day operations, this position plays a key role in supporting special events hosted by the Athletics Department. The Coordinator will assist with media support efforts, including but not limited to digital content creation, game-day media operations, live statistical coverage, website updates, and live-streaming production.

The successful candidate will ensure compliance with all NCAA, conference, and university policies and procedures while contributing to the overall success and visibility of the Athletics Department. Additional administrative and departmental duties will be assigned as needed.

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:

  • Create and implement a vibrant game day experience, involving fans and guests both in-person and via social media.
  • Responsible for hiring and assigning student workers and other essential operating personnel for game day management and facilities management.
  • Operate NCAA Live Stats and Statcrew Programs at home contests as needed.
  • Assist Assistant Athletics Director for Athletic Communication with live streaming, web and social media content. Experience with photoshop, Adobe, Canva, graphic design, media production and marketing are a plus.
  • Communicate with visiting teams and officials prior to and on game day to ensure a hospitable and professional experience
  • Supervise student media interns 
  • Ensure proper setup and tear down of the equipment and facilities for intercollegiate contests.
  • Represent the Athletic Department at University events as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, computer competency
  • Ability to relate with various constituencies of the university
  • Commitment to the mission of the university
  • Commitment to rules compliance

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master's degree
  • Two years of college experience in sports information and/or athletic administration
