Responsibilities
  • Provide onboarding, training, and support infrastructure for trainers in all YNP departments.
  • Perform regular observation and assessment of instructional effectiveness for all learning activities in YNP and make improvement recommendations as appropriate.
  • Facilitate Management Training classes and identify opportunities to enhance manager skills.
  • Assist with Train the Trainer events to share best practices and consult on learning interventions.
  • Establish and manage a year-round orientation program and work with the corporate instructional design team and Content Manager as necessary to create content and materials.
  • Review and evaluate existing programs for effectiveness in meeting business objectives and furthering Xanterra's mission and values. Recommend changes to maximize effectiveness of programs and facilitate skill application in the workplace.
  • Champion YNP and Xanterra-wide initiatives, implementing change management strategy, contributing to design of programs and projects, following strategic learning and development road-map, and utilizing innovative technology and tools.
  • Parter with L&D Coordinator to manage training schedules, materials, transportation and logistics.
  • Continue to increase knowledge and skills in related fields including:
  • learning theory, instructional design, and facilitation skills.
  • technological advances with training and learning applications.
  • employment law issues and company policies.
  • research/trends in organizational development and management theory.
  • Manage a team of L&D Trainers, growing skills, assessing performance, creating schedules and providing ongoing feedback and support during regularly scheduled 1:1 and team meetings.
  • Audit learning materials and curriculum to ensure consistency of quality and branding.
  • Review and interpret data to identify relevant trends and gaps. Conduct needs assessments and work directly with stakeholders as a trusted adviser to create and implement learning solutions.
  • Meet regularly with leadership teams and provide clear, effective professional communication, both written and verbal, to apprise stakeholders of departmental activities and initiatives.
  • Maintain positive working relationships and actively promote efforts to uphold the values of the organization, foster safe and inclusive communities, and grow a culture of continuous learning.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Knowledge and practical experience in effective management skills, including demonstrated ability to establish positive relationships, hire, retain and grow direct reports.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office Suite, learning management systems, and technology.

  • Ability to relate to a broad cross-section of employees and convey concepts in an understandable, applicable
  • Ability to assess the understanding of course materials by the employees and evaluate each employee's level of comprehension of subject matter.

Preferred Qualifications (if applicable):

  • Knowledge of Company policies and procedures helpful.
  • Proficiency in Smartsheet, Articulate Rise, Survey Monkey and other authoring tools a plus.
  • Familiarity with Copilot and Smartsheet strongly preferred.

Physical Requirements include:

  • Must be able to stand for variable amounts of time, approximately 8 hours.
  • Must be able to walk for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to lift and carry a minimum of 20 pounds.
  • Must have a current and valid driver's license and be able to travel to locations across the park.
