The Details:Position Type: SeasonalSeason Dates: December 2026 to March 2027Pay: $20.50/hour - $22.35/hour (depending on experience)Schedule: Typical schedule is 40 hours, 5 days/per week (may include weekends, evenings, and holidays)

Responsibilities
  • Connect employees with Yellowstone and their position by delivering a professional and enthusiastic welcome to Yellowstone, Xanterra, and their local community.
  • Empower employees to perform job duties effectively and efficiently by conducting training and connecting employees with learning opportunities and information.
  • Facilitate blended learning curriculum in a variety of settings to support employee development during the location-opening phase and throughout the employee life cycle.
  • Drive exemplary guest service and engagement through training, feedback, and coaching.
  • Remain flexible and resilient to overcome obstacles and adapt to achieve goals.
  • Maintain performance and a positive attitude under pressure.
  • Update and track learning activity and reports in the LMS system.
  • Remain coach-able and work toward incorporating constructive feedback for improvement.
  • Establish positive working relationships with operations and support, helping to create and maintain a partnership in providing the best possible employee and guest experiences.
  • Attend location meetings as a representative of the Learning and Development team.
  • Supervise training participants, assess skills and knowledge, monitor attendance, and provide feedback to their managers regarding their abilities, as appropriate.
  • Actively partner with operations and support to promote a safe, respectful, and inclusive living and working environment, hosting, and participating in community living activities.
  • Assist other trainers throughout the season through collaboration and coaching.
  • Identify key indicators of learning transfer and track them throughout the season to identify areas of opportunity and success.
  • Perform needs assessments and collaborate with stakeholders to create and implement effective learning solutions.
  • Communicate concerns and feedback voiced by class participants and stakeholders.
  • Assist with assembly and organization of all training materials (i.e., manuals, visuals, practical sessions, Power-Point, etc.). Maintain and communicate training schedules.
  • Prepare and organize the training areas and supplies at assigned location.
  • Observe operations to gauge employee skills, service, and adherence to expectations.
  • Assist operation as needed, including extended work weeks, during times of short staffing.
  • Ensure that safety and environmental programs are being implemented.
  • Adhere to all company and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Perform all job duties toward the goal of meeting financial goals.
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Effective interpersonal and public speaking skills.
  • Ability to teach others in a logical and professional manner. Ability to demonstrate tasks and give instruction in both small and large groups.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in learning management systems (LMS) and content authoring tools.
  • Knowledge of Xanterra specific computer programs helpful (Opera, LMS, Mi9).
  • Knowledge of basic computer programs (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
  • Knowledge of chemical safety and products helpful.
  • Knowledge of YNP programs, policies and procedures is strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of Yellowstone National Park, surrounding communities, and services available.
  • Previous employment with Xanterra or in the hospitality industry is strongly preferred.

Physical Requirements include:

  • Frequent lifting/carrying up to fifty pounds throughout the day.
  • Pushing a cart up to 50-100 pounds.
  • Standing for up to eight hours per shift.
  • May be working outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Frequent walking up and down stairs
  • Walking up and down hills that are a steep grade.
  • Requires bending, kneeling, stretching, and reaching.
  • Speaking clearly in front of audiences for several hours.
  • Valid driver's license and safe driving record required, and ability to pass DOT physical preferred.
  • Working with required chemicals.
