87,200 - 106,600

Annual bonus target, based on the base salary, with a potential payout of up to double the target (subject to personal and company performance):

Salary for the candidate will be determined taking into consideration a number of factors including: experience, skills, qualifications, anticipated contribution to role, internal equity, etc. The salary range presented above is based on a 35-hour workweek and would represent a majority of different candidate profiles. However, we encourage candidates who may fall outside of this range to apply as well.


About the role

We are looking for a Bilingual Learning and Instructional Design Practice Lead, with strong expertise in learning science, instructional design and educational technologies, to contribute to the improvement and structuring of learning and development practices within Claims.


This role is for an experienced professional who wants to help shape a structured, modern and innovative learning practice. Through their strong command of pedagogical approaches, educational technologies and the new possibilities offered by AI, they will translate the L&D vision into clear reference points, methods and standards. They will act as a subject-matter reference for the team, with the ability to challenge ideas, guide pedagogical decisions and turn business needs into coherent, useful and results-driven learning solutions.


Reporting to the National Manager, Learning and Development, the selected candidate will play a key role in improving, ensuring the quality of and operationalizing learning practices for Claims teams across Canada. They will recommend and document best practices, structure ways of working, integrate new approaches and help drive the thoughtful adoption of educational technologies, including artificial intelligence. They may also provide targeted expertise in selected design projects, while primarily acting as a point of reference to ensure pedagogical consistency, guide instructional designers and advance the maturity of the practice.

Here are some of the ways you will help move things forward:

  • Recommend, document and contribute to the evolution of best practices in learning, instructional design, quality assurance and educational technologies
  • Translate the L&D vision into ways of working, common reference points, tools and standards that can be applied by the team day to day
  • Coach and guide instructional designers in their pedagogical thinking, strategy choices, deliverable improvements and skills development
  • Contribute to the implementation of quality assurance practices that support the consistency, relevance and effectiveness of learning solutions
  • Explore, recommend and integrate innovative approaches, including the responsible use of artificial intelligence, to enhance how we design, collaborate and support learning
  • Analyze learning needs and operational challenges to guide the most relevant pedagogical approaches
  • Provide targeted expertise in the design, review or improvement of learning solutions when subject-matter expertise is required
  • Collaborate closely with partners, subject-matter experts and operational teams to ensure solutions are aligned, sustainable and truly applicable in the field

What we are looking for:

  • University degree in educational technology, instructional design or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
  • 5 to 8 years of experience in a similar role, ideally in a complex, operational or transformation-focused environment
  • Strong expertise in learning, instructional design, quality assurance and educational technologies
  • Experience contributing to the structuring or evolution of practices, ways of working, standards or quality frameworks in an L&D environment
  • Strong working knowledge of design, collaboration and innovation tools such as Microsoft 365, Articulate 360, LMS, AI tools or similar technologies
  • Demonstrated ability to act as a reference point for a team, influence practices and guide skills development
  • For all candidates across Canada : Bilingualism (French / English) is required considering the need to interact on a regular basis with colleagues across the country
