A Day in the Life

The Key Account Manager is responsible for the execution of account strategy and overall retail account management to build profitability and grow market share. This individual will maintain strong relationships with senior management across retail partners and effectively negotiate for space, location, exposure, margin, etc.

Job Description

The Manager, Key Accounts Alternate/Emerging is responsible for executing account strategy and managing retail operations across a diverse portfolio of alternate and emerging channels across multiple brands within the L'Orรฉal Luxe division. This role oversees accounts such as Military, Secondary, Costco, Olive Young, and New Accounts. Operating across multiple business models and playbooks, this position requires strong communication, independent execution, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration to drive profitability and market share.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for retail and net sales goals for assigned retailer and wholesale accounts
  • Manage overall and individual P&Ls across assigned accounts
  • Support buy negotiations in partnership with National Account Leads
  • Oversee inventory management, including topline stock levels, timely ordering, and addressing low/out-of-stock situations
  • Control and update stock/sales plans, product, and GWP returns
  • Manage weekly, monthly, and annual forecasting and planning
  • Analyze and execute growth levers using a customer-centric approach
  • Partner with the CGO Business Planning team, BU O+O teams, and cross-functional teams (Marketing, Finance, Demand Planning, Education, Field) to build account-specific growth plans
  • Maintain the account calendar of activities and events
  • Contribute to a positive, collaborative, and high-performing team environment
Requirements
  • 5+ years of related experience
  • Requires in-depth conceptual and practical knowledge in own job discipline and basic knowledge of related job disciplines
  • Uses knowledge of internal business issues to improve practices and procedures
  • Solves complex problems; takes a new perspective using existing solutions
  • Works independently, receives minimal guidanceMay lead projects or project steps within a broader project or may have accountability for on-going activities or objectives
  • Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience
  • Analytical and creative approach to identifying opportunities and solving problems
  • Financial acumen with P&L and budget management experience
  • Entrepreneurial risk mentality and innovative management skills
  • Proven ability to develop strategic goals, drive company sales, and achieve profit objectives
