Job description

Are you organized, detail-oriented, and passionate about creating memorable experiences? The Davis Conference Center & Hilton Garden Inn is seeking a dedicated Event Manager to join our team! In this role, you'll collaborate closely with clients and our sales team to ensure seamless, successful events of every size - from corporate conferences to weddings and social celebrations.

Compensation: $40,000+ per year depending on experience
Benefits: Health, Dental, Vision, and Life insurance, HSA, and 401(k) with a 4% company match.

What You'll Do

As an Event Manager, you'll be responsible for coordinating and executing group functions and events, ensuring exceptional service and satisfaction from start to finish. Key responsibilities include:

  • Working alongside the Sales Manager to manage booked events, including meetings, conferences, tradeshows, and banquets.
  • Building and maintaining positive relationships with clients through timely communication, follow-up, and attention to detail.
  • Preparing and managing Banquet Event Orders (BEOs), contracts, and other event documentation.
  • Overseeing event details such as food and beverage, audio/visual, and room setup.
  • Attending pre-con and post-con meetings with clients and internal teams.
  • Greeting clients on event day and ensuring all needs are met throughout the event.
  • Responding promptly and professionally to guest requests and concerns.
  • Supporting the Sales Manager with amenities, follow-up correspondence, and repeat business opportunities.

What We're Looking For

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Experience:
    • Event management experience required.
    • Sales experience preferred.
    • Previous hotel or conference management experience is highly desired.
  • Skills:
    • Excellent communication and organizational abilities
    • Strong attention to detail and follow-through
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs
  • Physical Requirements: Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 10 pounds occasionally.
