Job description

The Manager, Climate Consulting is an experienced leader in sustainability consulting and climate-related services delivery. This role is primarily responsible for the day-to-day management of the climate consulting team, ensuring high-quality service delivery, optimizing resources, and professional development.
The Manager, Climate Consulting will drive operational excellence, guide strategic initiatives, and provide feedback to improve methodologies and learning opportunities for the climate consulting team.
What You'll Do
  • Lead and manage a team of climate consultants, ensuring high-quality service delivery and adherence to best practices in carbon accounting and sustainability consulting
  • Oversee team performance, providing mentorship, training, and professional development to enhance technical expertise and consulting skills
  • Drive accountability within the team for administrative, operational, and project-related activities
  • Work closely with customers and partners to build strong relationships, mitigate risks, and resolve issues related to carbon accounting, climate strategy, and compliance
  • Provide oversight and guidance on sustainability reporting frameworks, such as the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), Science-Based Targets Initiative (SBTi), and the Greenhouse Gas Protocol (GHGP)
  • Ensure proper resource allocation to meet contracted service commitments and optimize team utilization
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including product, sales, and customer success, to drive alignment on sustainability initiatives and services
  • Support the continuous development and documentation of carbon accounting methodologies and best practices to standardize service delivery
  • Contribute to thought leadership in carbon accounting and climate strategy through external engagements and internal knowledge-sharing initiatives

What You'll Need
Minimum Qualifications
  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience in environmental science, sustainability, business, finance, or a related field.
  • 5 years of experience in climate consulting, sustainability services, and environmental management or related experience
  • Minimum 2 years of direct people management experience preferred, including supervisory experience of supervisor and/or individual contributors

Preferred Qualifications
  • Hands-on experience with climate-related data analysis, carbon accounting methodologies, and ESG reporting platforms
  • Experience leading teams in climate consulting, sustainability services, or corporate sustainability strategy
  • Expertise in sustainability reporting frameworks, including GHG Protocol, SBTi, CSRD, PCAF, and CDP
  • Strong knowledge of carbon emissions measurement, mitigation strategies, and regulatory compliance
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex climate concepts into actionable insights
  • Ability to develop, train, and mentor climate consultants to enhance their expertise and service delivery capabilities
  • Self-motivated leader with a strategic mindset, driving operational improvements and scaling climate consulting services
  • Familiarity with SaaS solutions in the sustainability space and experience working with climate-related technology platforms is a plus
  • Enhanced technology proficiency, including the Microsoft Office suite and Google Workspace applications. Knowledge of SQL, Python, or data visualization tools is beneficial

Travel Requirements and Working Conditions
  • 25% Travel for customer and internal meetings
  • Reliable internet access for any period of time working remotely and not in a Workiva office

How You'll Be Rewarded
✅ Salary range in the US: $108,000.00 - $173,000.00
✅ A discretionary bonus typically paid annually
✅ Restricted Stock Units granted at time of hire
