Summary

Maintenance Manager oversees a variety of activities to ensure plant equipment and facilities are in optimum operating condition. Designs and implements strategies to insure that facilities run smoothly and efficiently. Also coaches and develops Maintenance Lead, Technicians and Apprentices.

Duties and Responsibilities

โ€ข Directs and schedules Maintenance Technicians โ€“ including interviewing, hiring, training, planning and schedule, performance reviews, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints, and resolving issuesโ€ข Works with Engineering Manager, Plant Manager, Automations Manager, and Maintenance Planner in scheduling maintenance in a manner, which maximizes the department's capabilities while meeting the plant's needsโ€ข Leads team meetings. โ€ข Oversees and manages the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS)โ€ข Ensures maintenance information is properly communicated within the organization โ€ข Creates, tracks, reviews, and maintains the maintenance budgetโ€ข Work with contractors and vendors for project and equipment quotes and scheduling workโ€ข Provides audit and inspection supportโ€ข Develops, maintains, and oversee the Preventative Maintenance process & schedules โ€ข Partners with operations to identify and execute continuous improvement projects to improve safety, efficiency, and cost savings. โ€ข Oversees contractors work, maintaining good relationships with vendors and ensuring all safety and quality protocols are followed.โ€ข Oversees cleaning and maintainance of grounds, parking lots, fencing and building facilities (e.g., plumbing)โ€ข Ensure team members complete work orders, records, logs and other written or computer-based documents accurately and timelyโ€ข Troubleshoot complex problems with equipment when maintenance technicians need assistanceโ€ข Participates in environmental sustainability initiatives โ€ข Attend and actively participate within local plant maintenance and Weekly Operations Reviewsโ€ข Actively participate on Teams that improve workplace safety, troubleshoot production issues, reduce waste and improve factory efficienciesโ€ข Performs all duties as assignedโ€ข Adhere to ERU food safety policies and all government food safety and sanitation regulations (ex. FDA, HACCP, GMP, OSHA)

Qualifications Required qualifications, skills, and experience for the job; education background, certifications, relevant work experience, technical skills, and soft skills.

โ€ข High School Diploma or GED Requiredโ€ข Minimum of a Technical degree in Technical/Engineering discipline and 5 years experience in maintenance management or mechanics; or an equivalent combination of education and experience required โ€ข 3+ years experience in management/supervisory role preferredโ€ข Valid driver's license โ€ข Ability to operate Forklift, scissors, and aerial lifts โ€ข Strong skill set and education within electrical, mechanical automation, PLC and SCADA systemsโ€ข Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers, fractions, decimals, and percentagesโ€ข Good computer skills including e-mail, word processing, and spreadsheetsโ€ข Read and understand technical drawings (e.g., blueprints, electronic/mechanical schematics, eqipment manuals) to repair/maintain equipmentโ€ข Excellent written and verbal communication skillsโ€ข Ability to work with automated equipment and power equipmentโ€ข Ability to multi-task and prioritize under pressureโ€ข Ability to work in cross-functional teamsโ€ข Good organization and problem-solving skillsโ€ข Detail-oriented nature
