Job description

We are looking to hire a skilled Overnight Maintenance Engineer to maintain the establishment and hotel equipment during the overnight shift. In this role you will be responsible for maintaining the physical functionality and safety of the facility and all guests overnight.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

- Always approaches all interactions with guests and employees in a friendly and service-oriented manner by maintaining a positive demeanor.

- Promotes a positive and caring work environment by addressing and resolving any conflict in a calm and poised manner.

- Patrols the interior and perimeter of the hotel during the overnight shift to observe and identify potential security and safety risks or undesirable conditions.

- Maintains order in the hotel, dealing with the welfare of guests, coordinates expedient response to emergency conditions such as fire, safety hazards, and threats to life and/or property in a calm, rational and persuasive manner.

- Performs daily maintenance needs that must be completed after hours to avoid disturbing guests.

- Performs interior and exterior preventive maintenance and repairs to all hotel equipment.

- Responds promptly to elevator breakdowns.

- Servicing and replacing old or faulty equipment.

- Removing old equipment and installing new machines.

- Be familiar with all applicable laws and codes to ensure proper compliance.

- Memorizes and monitors life safety system including accurate layout of entire building, locations of standpipes, fire extinguishers, completes alarm reports, and checks and reports any pertinent information from each shift.

- Provides accurate information to inquirers for directions and hours of operations.

- Assists guests with door lock, television, lighting, and in room safe problems.

- Responds to guest complaints, conducts research to develop the most effective solutions.

- Projects a professional manner with an emphasis onhospitalityand guest service.

- Performs any other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

1. Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.

2. Minimum 1 year of customer service experience required, hospitality industry preferred.

3. Should be able to work independently and with minimum supervision.

4. Excellent customer service skills.

5. Ability to read, write, and speak effectively in English in order to communicate with guests and team members.

6. Have a strong attention to details.

7. Must be able to multi-task.

8. Must be a team player.
