Job description

Summary:  

Under general supervision of the Regional Maintenance Manager, perform general maintenance tasks on equipment in the plant to ensure safe and proper operations daily.  

Essential Job Duties:  

  • Responsible for following the budget guideline for the maintenance department. 

  • Responsible for scheduling and directing the maintenance and custodial staff. 

  • Responsible for creating and directing a preventative maintenance program with the ultimate goal of attaining a zero-downtime environment. 

  • Responsible for maintaining adequate and organized parts inventory and sourcing the best overall pricing of the necessary parts and supplies. 

  • Ordering any needed parts for laundry facilities 

  • Obtain approval from the Regional Maintenance Manager for orders over $1,000. 

  • Responsible for maintenance staff recruiting and training in all aspects of industrial maintenance. 

  • Responsible for obtaining/maintaining all licenses and permits associated with pressure vessels, backflow preventers, wastewater discharge permits, and state-required guidelines related to piping and equipment as needed. 

  • Responsible for managing the custodial function and staff. Ensure appropriate supplies are available at all times to clean the plant daily correctly. 

  • Responsible for on-time startup and shutdown of the facility. 

  • Responsible for staff evaluations, recommendations, and guiding the maintenance staff to ensure continued career development. 

  • Responsible for following all company growth programs annually. 

  • Participate in safety meetings with the entire staff. 

  • Perform other related duties as assigned. 

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:  

  • Must possess strong knowledge and troubleshooting skills in Electrical, Mechanical, Pneumatic, Hydraulics, Steam, and Natural Gas Combustion. 

  • Strong communication skills, verbal and written, interpersonal and listening skills, and ability to speak effectively before groups of customers and employees. 

  • Ability to deal with problems involving variables in standardized situations and excellent people skills. 

  • Ability to read, understand and interrupt technical manuals. 

  • Demonstrate strong computer proficiency, with strong working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Office applications (Word and Excel), including typing skills and the ability to navigate through multiple computer systems.Â
