Position Summary:

The Executive Director, reporting directly to the Regional Director of Operations or Divisional Director of Operations, serves as the senior leader of the Community with responsibility for strategic oversight, daily operations, and long-term performance. This role ensures the delivery of exceptional resident care while maintaining full compliance with all regulatory standards and driving achievement of financial and operational goals. The Executive Director leads and develops department heads and staff across all functional areas, fostering a culture of accountability, engagement, and alignment with the Company's mission and values. In addition to overseeing sales and occupancy growth, the Executive Director actively represents the Community externally, building strong relationships with residents, families, employees, and local partners to enhance the Community's reputation and ensure long-term success.


Essential Functions:

  • Responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Community including profit and loss, marketing, sales, regulatory compliance, maintaining high customer satisfaction, meeting financial expectations, maintaining a clean and well-kept community, and ensuring a quality workforce.
  • Adhere to the organization's core standards, communication expectations, mission, and core values.ย 
  • Make business decisions that serve the best interests of the company and its employees, consistently keeping the organization's mission statement and core values at the forefront of all decision-making.
  • Directly manage the Housekeeping department and provide oversight to department supervisors in Resident Care, Sales, Maintenance, Dining, Life Enrichment, and Office Administration, ensuring departmental performance metrics and operational goals are consistently achieved.
  • Create and manage the department schedule through the Attendance on Demand platform to ensure adequate coverage according to the labor budget and ensure all key AOD expectations and guidelines are consistently met.
  • Lead the community with purpose by providing guidance, direction, and coordination while practicing servant leadership in support of the team and residents.
  • Meet/exceed budgets and targeted community performance goal.
  • Participate in marketing outreach initiatives, family engagement events, and quarterly marketing events.
  • Lead and facilitate weekly ROAR meetings.ย 
  • Demonstrate competence in regulatory compliance and ensure that the property stays in regulatory compliance with all regulatory agencies.
  • Oversee timely recruitment and hiring processes, deliver exceptional onboarding experiences, conduct performance evaluations, and partner with Human Resources on employee development and disciplinary matters as needed.
  • Remain current on organizational updates and industry best practices by actively participating in company-sponsored trainings, meetings, and events, staying fully engaged and present throughout.
  • Ensure effective communication is being utilized by community staff with the residents' families concerning residents' care, encompassing their physical, personal, and emotional wellbeing.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.ย 
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of management experience preferred, with senior living experience strongly desired.ย 
  • Applicable state licensure is required.ย 
  • CPR or BLS certification preferred.ย 
  • Experience with accounting functions such as accounts payable and receivable, posting ledgers, balancing and reconciling accounts.ย ย 
  • Demonstrated proficiency in common digital tools and applications, including Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Excel, Word), web-based platforms, electronic health record systems, and any HR-related systems as applicable.ย 

Working Conditions:

  • This position may need to walk or stand for extended periods and move throughout the community, resident apartments, and other areas of the community.ย 
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee may occasionally be required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, as well as climb or balance.ย ย 
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to communicate effectively and identify/interpret written information.ย 
  • This position may need to lift up to fifty (50) pounds independently, and up to 200 pounds with assistance.
  • Individuals in this position are required to follow all infection prevention and control protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) when necessary, to ensure the health and safety of residents, staff, and visitors.ย 
  • This role involves actively participating in all staff activities aimed at fostering teamwork, unity, and morale. The individual will contribute as a collaborative team player, working alongside colleagues to create a supportive and cohesive work environment.
  • Individuals in this position are required to stay current on all training and ongoing education initiatives. They are expected to actively pursue self-improvement and embrace opportunities for continuous learning to enhance their skills and knowledge.ย
