Description

Maintenance Director

AKA: The Fix-It Wizard, Lord of the Lightbulbs, Hero of HVAC

Are you the kind of person who can walk into a room and instantly know why it's making that weird humming noise? Do you own more tools than your local hardware store? Do your friends call you before they call a professional? Then congratulations - you might be our next Maintenance Director.

At our facility, we rely on one brave soul to keep the lights on, the toilets flushing, the air conditioning doing its thing, and the snow shoveled before anyone's slippers hit the sidewalk. This isn't just a job - it's a full-blown adventure in pipes, wires, and "How is that even broken?!"

What You'll Be Doing (Besides Saving the Day):

  • Running preventive maintenance like a pro, because it's better to fix it before it makes that terrifying grinding noise.
  • Tackling repairs big and small - from plumbing to painting to electrical to whatever else dares to break.
  • Keeping the grounds in tip-top shape, including mowing, trimming, and launching full snow-fighting operations during winter.
  • Ordering supplies, managing inventory, and knowing exactly where that one weird part is stored.
  • Supervising any additional maintenance crew with charm, wit, and mild sarcasm (optional but encouraged).
  • Responding to resident and staff requests with a can-do attitude - and maybe a toolbelt flourish.

Requirements

You'll Fit Right In If You:

  • Can fix things without using duct tape (but also know when duct tape is the answer).
  • Have a high school diploma or GED.
  • Are 21 or older (not just in age, but in maturity level - usually).
  • Have at least 1 year of maintenance experience in any setting where things break regularly.
  • Hold a valid Class D driver's license (for heroic errands and snowplow glory).
  • Can lift up to 50 lbs, reach into tight spaces, and aren't afraid to get your hands dirty.
  • Are not easily spooked by leaky pipes, mysterious noises, or a laundry machine with an attitude.

Bonus Points If You:

  • Know the difference between voltage and amperage (and don't let anyone mix them up).
  • Can build, install, or fix just about anything - even if it's held together with hope and a few loose screws.
  • Enjoy working with a team that values humor, heart, and hustle.

Why You'll Love It Here:

Because we don't just hand you a wrench and a wish. You'll be part of a community that truly appreciates your work. You'll have freedom to lead, support when you need it, and yes - the right to grumble when someone breaks the same thing for the third time this week.

We believe that a well-run building is a happy building - and our Maintenance Director is the one who keeps it that way.

Sound like your kind of gig? Then grab your multitool, lace up your boots, and let's get to work.

Apply today - the boiler might already miss you.

The Fine Print (Still Important!):

Offers of employment are contingent upon a successful background check and drug screen. We want to keep our residents safe, happy, and in good hands-you're part of that promise.

Helia Healthcare, LLC is an equal opportunity employer. We celebrate diversity and are dedicated to creating an inclusive environment for all employees. We're committed to building a team that represents a variety of backgrounds, perspectives, and skills. The more inclusive we are, the better we can serve our community.
