About the Role:

The Engineering and Maintenance Manager holds a key position in which they help evaluate and maintain current manufacturing equipment and processes, seek out potential new advanced technology for integration into existing manufacturing, and implement new technology into manufacturing processes.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Assists all business units in making operational improvements to reduce costs and to increase productivity
  • Utilizes new technology and Lean Manufacturing principals and processes to maximize efficiency
  • Plans, manages, and executes capital asset programs in compliance with Annual Operating Plan and established policy
  • Promotes development cost saving initiatives
  • Develops a work environment within manufacturing that promotes trust, teamwork quality and safety
  • Assigns accountability, builds teams, hires, develops, evaluates, trains, coaches and disciplines with corrective action as needed
  • Ensures the adherence to Safeway policies, practices, and procedures
  • Ensures production of a quality product in compliance with Wabash quality standards as defined by the Quality organization
  • Other duties as assigned

Let's Talk About Your Qualifications:

  • BS Engineering or Technology required (Mechanical or Electrical Engineering preferred or related field)
  • 3 years manufacturing plant engineering/management experience which includes financial management and project development and project management experience
  • Previous experience with Automated Control Systems PLCs & PCs
  • Successful department budget management
  • Knowledge of Capital Project Development, Cost Estimation and Management
  • Lean manufacturing principals, 5 S deployment/sustainability, WCM Strategy experience
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Power Point, Office, and Microsoft Project.
  • Ability to interface and comply with regulatory agencies
  • Proven skills and track record in Preventive Maintenance, TPM, Reliability Based Asset Management
  • Interpersonal, Team Building and Collaborative skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
