Job Title: Production Engineer - Manager

Location: West Chester, PA

Employment Type: Full-time

Work Arrangement: On-site (site-based role)


The Role

An established manufacturing organisation is seeking an experienced Production Manager to lead site-based production operations. This role is accountable for driving Safety, Quality, Cost, and Operational performance in line with defined KPIs, while leading and engaging shift-based production teams.

This is a hands-on leadership position within a regulated manufacturing environment, requiring a strong focus on EHS, continuous improvement, and people leadership.


Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure all production activities comply with EHS, security policies, procedures, and standards, minimising operational risk
  • Promote a strong safety-first culture, leading by example and supporting EHS initiatives across the site
  • Build, lead, and develop high-performing, engaged teams, ensuring effective resource allocation
  • Coach, mentor, and develop employees, including succession planning, performance feedback, and annual reviews
  • Deliver production targets on time, to cost and quality standards, with a strong “right-first-time” mindset
  • Prevent customer quality issues; where issues arise, ensure rapid investigation and resolution
  • Investigate non-conformances and embed lessons learned to drive continuous quality improvement
  • Embed a continuous improvement culture, driving efficiencies and best-practice implementation
  • Plan and manage maintenance activities and production downtime to minimise disruption
  • Implement, monitor, and review training and development strategies
  • Undertake additional duties within scope and capability as required


Experience & Qualifications

  • 5–10 years’ experience in manufacturing within a multi-site or unionised environment or 5+ years’ experience in chemical, metals, or heavy manufacturing
  • Proven leadership experience with the ability to coach, engage, and develop teams
  • Strong understanding of EHS management principles
  • Degree or equivalent experience in a relevant discipline (e.g. Engineering, Metallurgy)
  • Demonstrated experience using problem-solving and root cause analysis (RCA) techniques
  • Experience working within ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 standards
