Job description

Production Engineer

Michigan Automotive Compressor, Inc. (MACI), a world-class manufacturer of air conditioning compressors and magnetic clutches. MACI is a joint venture between Toyota Industries Corporation (TICO) and DENSO.

Duties & Responsibilities

General: To be a motivated, focused, organized, self-starting individual that will integrate themselves into our fast-paced manufacturing environment. To utilize the skills gained from education and work experience to systematically implement continuous improvement. To professionally communicate & facilitate with all personnel in MACI. To ethically support the policy and goals of MACI & the production engineering department and its management.

Specific: Machine safety enhancement; process troubleshooting, root cause analysis; short period stops, downtime, defect & cost reduction; PLC & CNC programming & troubleshooting; feasibility & time study; schedule, budget, & project management; production control charts & PFMEA document maintenance; tool testing & improvement; machine design improvement, visual presentation making & delivery, data procurement and analysis, equipment procurement, & supplier development.

Educational Background

Required: Bachelor of Science or Science & Technology discipline related to the Manufacturing environment.

Desired: Bachelor of Science in Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering Technology or Bachelor of Science in Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering. Machining and or aluminum casting experience is a plus.

Work Experience

Required: Manufacturing experience in machine and/or process operation, skilled trades work, administrative duties, engineering experience. Preferred: High output automotive industry experience; internship experience; examples of work history and duties performed along with references.

Desired: Hands on manufacturing floor experience within production processes; willing to assume a hands-on role. Trained technical skills in production processes, design, tooling, programming. Ability to deliver presentations/speeches, engage in teamwork, and effectively communicate. Achiever of continuous improvement implementation within diverse and sometimes complex situations.
