Job description

Atlas Roofing Shingle and Ventilation is seeking a Maintenance Engineering Manager for Hampton, GA.
Maintenance Engineering Manager Primary Responsibilities
  • Manage Maintenance Supervisor, Electrical Supervisor, Maintenance Planner, MRO, Electrical Controls Manager, Receiving Clerk, and Process Engineer, to ensure that day-to-day tasks as well as long-term projects are completed on time.
  • Delegate tasks appropriately.
  • Procurement of manufacturing equipment and spare parts in addition to maintaining critical spare parts inventory
  • Ensure work and projects comply with safety and environmental regulations.
  • Update manufacturing and maintenance routines and work instructions.
  • Keep processes (machines, tools, procedures) at best possible level in compliance with HSE regulations and QCD.
  • Build the engineering and CAPEX budgets. Ensure their application.
  • Management of the plant central maintenance program.
  • Monitor capacity utilization.
  • Keep plant mechanical and electrical lay-out updated.
  • Plan, monitor, and coordinate the work of external contractors.
  • Support problem solving initiatives.
  • Support the engineering change management process.
  • Facilitate and monitor the progress of the Continuous Improvement Program.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance efficiencies, streamline processes, and leverage resources to reduce cost.
  • Monitors departmental budget to assure goals are maintained and implemented as defined.
  • Establish and monitor the metrics (KPIs) for reporting on the performance of the engineering and maintenance department.
  • Periodically evaluates subordinates' performance according to company policy.
  • Adhere to and remain abreast of all company policies.
  • Ensure a safe, clean, and environmentally compliant work environment to foster a safety-first priority. Complete safety audits. Enforce and comply with all OSHA standards and company safety policies and procedures, including: Lockout/Tagout, Confined Space, Electrical Safety, Arc Flash, Elevated Working Surfaces, Hazard Communication (SDS), Hot Work, and Process Safety Management. Investigate all work-related injuries and illnesses.
  • Commit to team and corporate goals, mission, and vision.
  • Visit customers and suppliers as necessary. Acts as a liaison to internal and external customers and suppliers.
  • Create and maintain open lines of communication at every level of the facility.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Maintenance Engineering Manager Experience
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software is desired.

Maintenance Engineering Manager Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Experience in operating and managing maintenance activities using CMMS software and drive CMMS system. Preferred experience working in eMaint.
  • Strong understanding of Total Quality Management (TQM) and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) and its practical implementation
  • Basic knowledge of AutoCAD and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) is preferred (ControlLogix/ RS logic)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Basic detail and conceptual design skills
  • Experience with project management and implementation from the initial planning stages to completion.
  • Lean- six sigma skills and experience preferred.
  • Advanced analytical skills, and creativity in solving problems/troubleshooting.
  • Strong organizational skills in order to manage multiple short and long-term projects.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written, verbal and presentation), with the ability to effectively work with others in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated initiative and the ability to handle complex assignments with a proactive attitude.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Being willing to help in any and every aspect to maintain safety, production, and quality.

Maintenance Engineering Manager Education, Licenses & Certifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical Engineering, or equivalent related work experience.
