JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking a full-time Machine Operator experienced or willing to learn our business. This position is responsible for operating or assisting in a direct mail manufacturing environment with a focus on reduction in cost related errors, exceeding client expectation, and driving a safe workplace. Responsibilities and Activities:
  • Operates and maintains equipment.
  • Performs adjustments on machine per job instructions.
  • Meets and exceed production standards and maintaining customer quality requirements.
  • Communicates job status and production concerns/issues during shift change.
  • Follows all safety policies and procedures.
  • Adheres to all current Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Troubleshoots problems with minimum delay time.
  • Communicates with Management on any problems developing and corrective action.
  • Works with urgency when equipment is down to maintain production requirements.
  • Continues learning and improving processes to achieve increased production.
  • Facilitates teamwork among team members and between shifts.
  • Performs additional responsibilities as required to ensure the team's success.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
  • High school diploma or GED

Work Experience:
  • 2 years manufacturing experience (preferred)

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Demonstrated manual dexterity, mechanical aptitude, and troubleshooting skills. Ability to install, maintain, and repair equipment following safety guidelines.
  • Knowledge of predictive and productive maintenance systems.
  • Able to stand for long periods, bend, and perform repetitive motions.
  • Able to move and lift 25 pounds regularly and up to 40 pounds occasionally.
  • Able to stand on concrete for 10-12 hours.
  • Willingness to work overtime when needed.
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to follow written and verbal instructions. Willingness to learn, develop new skills, and be accountable for quality.
  • Effective communicator with good interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Adherence to safety procedures (including lock-out/tag-out and HazCom) and departmental SOPs.
