Job description

Description

Who We Are

White Lodging develops and operates a portfolio of award-winning premium hotels, rooftop bars, and restaurants in some of the country's most dynamic cities. We know that the hospitality business, like life, is about how you make people feel. That's where you come in. You'll help bring the virtue of hospitality to life while we create an environment that allows you to be your best self and grow.

The Sheraton Raleigh is a premier full-service Marriott hotel in the heart of downtown Raleigh, North Carolina — one of the fastest-growing and most dynamic cities in the Southeast. Positioned in the center of the city's thriving business, dining, and entertainment district, this is a high-profile, large-scale hotel property that demands experienced, proactive engineering leadership to protect the guest experience and the long-term value of the asset. As the Chief Engineer at one of downtown Raleigh's most prominent Marriott properties, you'll lead a team of skilled maintenance professionals and own the full engineering and facilities function for a complex, high-volume hotel operation.

We are hiring a Chief Engineer to lead all engineering and maintenance operations at the Sheraton Raleigh. This is a senior hotel engineering leadership role in Raleigh, NC for an experienced facilities or hotel engineering professional with deep technical knowledge across HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems — and the leadership skills to develop a high-performing maintenance team. If you're a Chief Engineer, Director of Engineering, Facilities Manager, or senior hotel maintenance professional looking for Chief Engineer jobs in Raleigh, North Carolina or hotel engineering leadership roles in the greater Raleigh-Durham area, this is your next move with one of the country's most respected hotel management companies.

What You'll Do

  • Lead all hotel engineering operations at Sheraton — including building maintenance, mechanical systems, energy management, and facilities function across this large-scale downtown Sheraton property
  • Build, lead, and develop a team of hotel maintenance professionals — ensuring proper training, scheduling, performance management, and a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive preventive maintenance program across all hotel systems and equipment — optimizing efficiency, minimizing downtime, and extending the operational life of hotel assets
  • Ensure full compliance with all safety regulations, OSHA standards, Marriott brand requirements, and White Lodging engineering policies across all hotel facilities and systems
  • Manage the engineering department budget, capital expenditure projects, and cost controls — delivering strong financial stewardship of the hotel's physical plant and long-term asset value
  • Respond swiftly to emergency maintenance issues — coordinating effectively with all hotel departments to minimize guest impact and restore operations as quickly as possible
  • Partner with hotel leadership on energy management initiatives, sustainability programs, and ongoing capital improvement projects at the Sheraton

What You'll Bring

  • Proven leadership experience as a Chief Engineer, Director of Engineering, Facilities Manager, or senior hotel maintenance professional — hospitality or hotel engineering experience strongly preferred
  • Deep technical knowledge of commercial HVAC systems, electrical systems, plumbing, and mechanical systems in a large-scale hotel or facilities environment — required
  • Demonstrated experience developing and managing preventive maintenance programs and hotel operating systems across a complex, high-volume property
  • Strong budget management, cost-control, and capital expenditure planning experience — with a track record of delivering financial results while maintaining premium hotel facilities standards
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills — with the ability to diagnose complex engineering issues, lead a skilled maintenance team, and collaborate effectively with hotel operations leadership
  • Familiarity with Marriott brand engineering standards, property management systems, and energy management platforms — prior experience at a Marriott-brand hotel a strong plus
  • Flexibility to work various shifts — including nights, weekends, and holidays — as the needs of a 24-hour hotel operation require

What You Can Look Forward To

  • Unlimited employee referral bonuses
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Paid time off (PTO) with rollover
  • Complimentary wellness tools
  • Leadership development & tuition reimbursement
  • Discounts on hotel rooms, dining, and travel
  • Growth opportunities across multiple hotel properties in your market
  • Full-time associates also receive:
    • Medical, dental, and vision insurance — starting day 1
    • Life and disability insurance
    • Paid parental leave
    • Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
