Job description

Position: Lockbox Payment Processor
Location: Westmont, IL
Duration: 6 Months possible for extension
Pay Rate: $18 /hr on W2

We are seeking aย Lockbox Payment Processorย to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience inย high-volume payment processing, data entry, and document handlingย and a proven ability toย meet accuracy, quality, and productivity standards in a production environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare transactions for deposit in accordance with established procedures.
  • Manually extract payments from envelopes and separate, sort, and organize checks and invoices per client specifications.
  • Accurately key payment amounts from the legal line of checks into a proprietary software application using a PC.
  • Read and follow account-specific instructions to prepare accurate deposits and workflows.
  • Collect and prepare check copies for re-association as required.
  • Physically re-associate check copies with invoices and envelopes by matching and stapling per customer requirements.
  • Sort completed batches in the outgoing mail area for client return.
  • Meet or exceed departmental productivity and quality standards.
  • Perform work in accordance with established processing procedures and maintain a clean work area.
  • Perform other duties as assigned. No supervisory responsibilities.

Schedule:

  • Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Some flexibility may be available.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic computer skills and accurate data entry capability.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.

Preferred Skills:

  • One year of experience in banking operations.
  • 10-key or high-volume data entry experience.

Working Conditions:

  • Ability to lift and move objects up to 25 lbs frequently.
  • Sit for extended periods, up to four hours at a time.
