Reporting to the Controller, the Accounts Receivable Clerk supports the organization's financial operations by managing client account activity, incoming payments, collections, and invoice follow-up processes. This role plays an important part in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting efficient cash flow operations, and delivering excellent customer service through professional and timely communication.

MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Duties and responsibilities of this role include but are not limited to the following:
  • Process and monitor accounts receivable transactions, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
  • Follow up with clients on overdue invoices via phone, email, and other communication channels
  • Record and maintain accurate collection activities and customer account updates within the organization's ERP system, Microsoft Dynamics Business Central
  • Research and resolve payment discrepancies, invoice issues, and customer inquiries
  • Prepare and distribute reminders, statements, and payment notifications to clients
  • Generate and analyze aging reports to prioritize collection efforts
  • Support implementation of systems and procedures to optimize accounts receivable workflows
  • Collaborate with internal teams to address customer concerns and streamline payment processes
  • Support accounting and finance-related responsibilities as assigned

CORE QUALIFICATIONS
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in an accounts receivable role
  • Associate's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or related field, OR equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience with cash applications, matching cash receipts, collections, and invoice management
  • Basic knowledge of accounting principles related to accounts receivable
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Outlook
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment
  • High level of professionalism and confidentiality when handling sensitive financial information

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or QuickBooks
  • Experience handling international accounts and multi-currency transactions
  • Knowledge of industry-specific collections practices
  • Experience working in a remote or distributed team environment
  • Candidates located on the East Coast preferred
  • Bachelor's degree preferred

WORKING CONDITIONS
  • This position is remote based within the United States. Candidates must be able to work from a U.S.-based location and be eligible to work lawfully in the United States for The Battery Network.
  • Limited travel (estimated 2-4 times per year) as needed. Travel could include, but not be limited to, attending conferences, customer meetings, or team/organization-wide meetings.
  • Standard work hours are Monday-Friday, 8 hours per day. Some roles may require additional hours during peak periods. We prioritize the quality and timeliness of work over rigid schedules and recognize the importance of connection, collaboration, and work-life balance. To support this, we offer flexible scheduling where roles allow, and in alignment with current policy, while ensuring operational needs and team collaboration are met.

Salary based on qualifications and experience. This role is eligible for an annual, impact-based bonus.
