Job description

We are seeking an experienced Litigation Legal Secretary to join our team. This is a full-time, in-person position (hybrid/remote work is not offered). The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of legal secretarial experience, with trial experience. This role requires a highly organized, detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can effectively support multiple attorneys across a variety of litigation matters.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain familiarity with California state and federal court rules and procedures
  • Proactively support attorneys by tracking the status of current cases and projects, using available resources to ensure timely progress
  • Handle a wide range of complex, confidential, and time-sensitive materials
  • Prepare, revise, and proofread correspondence, pleadings, and other legal documents
  • Provide dedicated support to 3-4 attorneys handling employment litigation, affirmative action, class action, and related matters, with additional backup support as needed
  • Serve as a liaison between internal departments, clients, and outside agencies, including coordinating depositions, mediations, and client communications
  • Manage docketing responsibilities, maintain attorney calendars, and track CLE records
  • Coordinate travel arrangements, including flights, hotels, and transportation, and manage any necessary changes

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Legal Secretary
  • Trial experience 
  • Strong knowledge of California state and federal court filing procedures and rules
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and time-management skills
  • High attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal-specific software
