SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The Line Operator will serve as a production team member that can troubleshoot and operate automated equipment and provide technical support to the Machine Technicians. The Line Operator will be responsible for supporting in-line inspection and final packing of our products according to customer requirements.
JOB DUTIES & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time; these responsibilities are as follows:
  • Packing containers and supporting packing operations in an active, fast-paced environment to meet customer requirements.
  • Ability to package containers and use automated and semi-automated equipment on all production lines.
  • Ability to operate and troubleshoot automated packing lines- auto palletizers, tray packers, strappers/wrappers, and labelers on all production lines.
  • Make basic adjustments to machines and give technical support to the machine while the Machine Technician is on break.
  • Monitor final verification of containers to ensure they are free of defects and/or debris.
  • Perform visual quality checks, ensure adherence to customer specifications, and accurately document all records related to downtime, production, scrap, process deviations, etc.
  • Inspect incoming and outgoing packaging to ensure product stability and conformity during shipments.
  • Keep work area clean and organized and within 6S standardization.
  • Report any equipment failures, safety issues or concerns to leaders.
  • Assist production team members in pulling hot plastic.
  • Provide training and support to new and current team members.
  • Participate in and support continuous improvement efforts throughout the plant, submitting improvement ideas and action items to promote safety, increase productivity or reduce material scrap.
  • Work safely, following all safety policies and proactively participating in the safe work of others and the safety of the overall environment.
  • Engage in other miscellaneous support work to enable the team to be successful and as requested by plant leadership.
  • Assist in the duties of other team members, including helping to clean other areas of the operation, supporting finished goods inventory movement, collecting trash, cardboard, and recycling materials, etc.
  • Demonstrate a desire for Radius production improvements, provide examples of safety focus, teamwork initiatives, and illustrate positive contributions to their direct and shared work environment.
  • Compliance to GMP, Food Safety, and Food Quality regulations as required by the company, customers, and/or government agencies.
  • Always willing to help and support other teams with open tasks and projects.

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • Must have reliable means of transportation.
  • Ability to speak and write in English is preferred.
  • Demonstrated Mechanical aptitude and learning ability regarding technical matters and troubleshooting preferred.
  • Must have analytical skills to accurately identify packing information, follow work instructions, and interpret quality specification requirements.
  • Capable of following a Production schedule and work independently with little supervision to get production accomplished.
  • Exhibits excellent critical thinking; decision-making skills and problem-solving methodology to validate working independently.
  • Able to follow internal and external rules, policies, and guidelines independently while working as part of a cohesive production team.
  • Familiarity with basic business computer and Microsoft applications and Apple iPad devices and applications.
  • Previous experience working in a fast-paced environment, with at least one (1) year experience working in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Demonstrated time management skills.
  • Demonstrated basic math and measurement skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
