About the Role

As the Director of Sales for North America Professional Lighting, you will lead the strategy, execution, and overall business performance for HARMAN's Professional Lighting portfolio across the U.S. and Canada. You will manage a team of sales account managers, driving delivery on annual sales targets exceeding $50 M, overseeing market expansion, strengthening key customer and channel partnerships, and ensuring alignment with global Lighting vertical priorities. This role also provides strategic input on product roadmap, pricing, and channel strategy to support sustained growth and competitiveness across North America.

What You Will Do
  • Lead regional sales strategy and execution for HARMAN's Professional Lighting portfolio across North America, driving revenue growth, margin performance, and forecast accuracy against monthly and annual targets.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of the North America lighting market and competitive landscape.
  • Create, communicate, and execute a 5‑year strategy that aligns with HARMAN's 5‑year growth plan, NPI roadmap, and market share targets.
  • Create, communicate, and execute a quarterly/yearly plan that successfully achieves the North America goals as it relates to YoY revenue growth as well as yearly revenue and contribution budgeted targets.
  • Manage and develop a high‑performing team, setting clear objectives, reinforcing accountability, and ensuring consistent execution against sales plans and business priorities. Proactively support individual development through structured performance management for team members not meeting expectations.
  • Create, communicate, and execute a business development strategy with customers, end‑users, influencers, consultants, and designers that successfully builds the pipeline necessary to achieve our quarterly/yearly revenue targets.
  • Partner cross‑functionally with Product Management, Marketing, and Sales Leadership to align on product roadmap, pricing, demand generation, and go‑to‑market strategies that strengthen market position and accelerate growth.
  • Cultivate and expand key customer and channel relationships by actively engaging in customer meetings and industry events to influence large opportunities and reinforce Martin Lighting's market presence.
  • Represent Martin Lighting at industry tradeshows and events, driving brand visibility, gathering market intelligence, and identifying emerging trends to inform sales strategy and business planning for your region.
What You Need to Be Successful
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, sales, marketing, or equivalent relevant concentration.
  • Minimum of 7 years Professional Lighting Sales Management experience
  • Possess the business acumen necessary to manage the Lighting Business Unit for North America, including accurate revenue forecasting, expense control, contribution margin management, and project management.
  • Ability to understand and use HARMAN systems to drive and manage the business (CRM, B.I./SAP, Chrome River, and Workday).
  • Disciplined and passionate leader with the ability to achieve high growth sales results.
  • Excellent financial acumen and deep understanding of a P&L.
  • Outstanding consultative selling abilities and interpersonal skills with executive level customers and partners.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with C‑Level executives to create results‑driven, team‑oriented culture.

  • Be willing to work in an office in Northridge, CA. Position can be located remotely but will require monthly travel to Northridge, CA (contingent upon remote location being aligned with a major entertainment market where we conduct significant business activities).

Compensation

Pay range: $173,250 – $254,100, depending on skill set, experience, training, location, and business need.
