Job description

The Team: 

Upstart's Lifecycle Marketing team is responsible for creating personalized customer experiences that help borrowers take the next step in their financial journey. The team combines marketing strategy, experimentation, analytics, and technology to build programs that drive measurable business outcomes across the customer lifecycle.

As the Lifecycle Marketing Manager, Core Products, you will own the strategy and performance of lifecycle marketing programs for prior Personal Loan applicants. You'll develop and optimize multi-channel customer journeys that increase engagement and funded loans while partnering closely with Product, Engineering, Analytics, Creative, and Product Marketing to deliver scalable, data-driven growth.

How you'll make an impact

  • Own the strategy, roadmap, and performance of lifecycle marketing programs targeting prior Personal Loan applicants across email, SMS, push notifications, and ringless voicemail.
  • Design, prioritize, launch, and optimize lifecycle journeys that increase applicant re-engagement, loan funding, and revenue.
  • Analyze campaign and funnel performance to identify opportunities, forecast business impact, and recommend strategic optimizations.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Analytics, Creative, and Product Marketing to define requirements and execute high-impact lifecycle initiatives.
  • Develop and test audience segmentation, channel mix, messaging, frequency, and AI-powered decisioning strategies to improve customer engagement and business performance.
  • Build and maintain scalable lifecycle campaigns within Iterable while ensuring high-quality execution and healthy channel performance.

Minimum Qualifications 

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4+ years of B2C lifecycle marketing experience managing performance-driven customer lifecycle programs.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience building and managing campaigns in an enterprise marketing automation platform such as Iterable, Braze, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, or Adobe Campaign.
  • Experience using analytics or business intelligence tools to measure campaign performance, analyze conversion funnels, and develop forecasts.
  • Experience partnering with cross-functional stakeholders to translate business requirements into lifecycle marketing programs.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of lifecycle marketing strategies within financial services or another highly regulated industry.
  • Experience using customer data platforms such as Hightouch to build and activate audiences.
  • Experience incorporating AI-powered decisioning or personalization into lifecycle marketing programs.
  • Ability to develop experimentation strategies across audience segmentation, messaging, channel mix, and campaign frequency.
  • Skills in leveraging generative AI tools to accelerate campaign planning, quality assurance, analysis, and content development while applying appropriate human oversight.

Position location This role is available in the following locations: Remote [A specific city/location is not required if the role does not have an in-person requirement]

Time zone requirements The team operates on the East/West coast time zones. 

Travel requirements As a digital first company, the majority of your work can be accomplished remotely. The majority of our employees can live and work anywhere in the U.S but are encouraged to to still spend high quality time in-person collaborating via regular onsites. The in-person sessions' cadence varies depending on the team and role; most teams meet once or twice per quarter for 2-4 consecutive days at a time.
