Job description

General Job Description Responsible for the daily delivery and retrieval of library materials for all branches of the Library. Maintains Library vehicles. Performs minor repairs and maintenance in library facilities as requested.

Reports to Director of Library and/or Assistant Director of Libraries. Duties for this Position Operates motor vehicles daily in the performance of courier responsibilities Retrieves and delivers library materials from all branch libraries, Bookmobile, Library Administration, Technical Services, and Chapin Library Delivers and exchanges special particular library collections (DVD rotations, etc.) between Library branches on a pre-determined basis Ensures Library vehicles are serviced and in proper working condition Retrieves weekly and monthly deposits from branches and takes to bank for processing Keeps Library vehicles cleaned and fueled Processes maintenance reports and monthly fuel reports for all Library vehicles and enters data on a regular basis Completes minor repairs and maintenance in Library facilities, when available Coordinates improvements and repairs for all Library vehicles with Horry County Fleet Services Performs other related duties as assigned Position Minimum Requirements High school diploma with one to two years of courier experience and/or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities Exemplary customer service skills Excellent computer skills Must be physically able to operate a variety of vehicles Must be able to pass required pre-employment physical and background check Must be able to follow Horry County Government and Library policies and procedures.
