Senior Graphic Designer
FLSA Status: Exempt
Department: Marketing / Business Development
Reports To: Director of Marketing
Jackson Walker, the largest law firm in Texas, has an exciting full-time employment opportunity for a Senior Graphic Designer in our Dallas or Fort Worth offices. The Senior Graphic Designer is responsible for developing and executing sophisticated visual communications that strengthen and protect the Jackson Walker brand across digital, print, web, social media, advertising, events, and other Firm initiatives. This position translates marketing and business objectives into compelling creative concepts, manages complex design projects from concept through production, and serves as a senior design resource for attorneys, business professionals, and members of the Marketing and Business Development team.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Brand Strategy & Creative Direction
� Lead the concept development, design, and execution of high-visibility print and digital projects, including advertising campaigns, presentations, brochures, event materials, invitations, newsletters, social media graphics, website assets, signage, and other Firm collateral.
� Translate marketing strategies, communication objectives, and business needs into creative concepts and visual solutions that support the Firm's brand positioning.
� Partner with the Director of Marketing and other stakeholders to support Firm branding strategy, evolve brand standards, and ensure consistent application of visual identity across channels and offices.
� Serve as a senior design resource and point of contact for Firm logos, brand guidelines, imagery, and other visual assets; provide guidance to internal and external partners on proper brand application.
� Develop storyboards, design layouts, templates, and campaign concepts that align with communication goals and audience needs.
� Present creative concepts and design recommendations to internal stakeholders, incorporate feedback, and advise on visual approaches that support project objectives.
Graphic Design & Production
� Apply advanced typography, layout, composition, color theory, image selection, and visual hierarchy to produce polished and effective communications.
� Design advertising and marketing collateral for digital, print, and social media in accordance with applicable legal advertising requirements.
� Perform quality control and final review of design work for brand consistency, accuracy, accessibility, production readiness, and overall visual quality before release or distribution.
� Coordinate with external vendors, printers, photographers, and other creative partners to manage production specifications, proofs, timelines, and delivery of finished materials.
Graphic Design & Production
� Apply advanced typography, layout, composition, color theory, image selection, and visual hierarchy to produce polished and effective communications.
� Design advertising and marketing collateral for digital, print, and social media in accordance with applicable legal advertising requirements.
� Perform quality control and final review of design work for brand consistency, accuracy, accessibility, production readiness, and overall visual quality before release or distribution.
� Coordinate with external vendors, printers, photographers, and other creative partners to manage production specifications, proofs, timelines, and delivery of finished materials.
� Submit and track advertising approval applications to applicable State Bar advertising review committees and maintain records of determinations regarding submitted advertisements.
Digital & Marketing Technology
� Create, test, and distribute email invitations, newsletters, RSVP forms, and landing pages using the Firm's CRM and web content management tools.
� Design website graphics and landing-page assets and perform front-end content updates, including uploading attorney photos and graphics.
� Support video and photography shoots, including creative planning, asset coordination, and visual direction as needed.
� Maintain awareness of current design trends, tools, technologies, and production practices and recommend improvements that enhance creative quality and workflow efficiency.
Project Management & Asset Management
� Manage multiple concurrent design projects from intake through final production, establishing priorities, coordinating feedback, and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced professional services environment.
� Manage and organize design files, photo libraries, stock photography, and moving-image assets to support efficient retrieval, appropriate usage rights, and consistent asset management.
� Ensure images, artwork, fonts, and other creative assets are properly licensed or cleared for use and communicate any usage restrictions to stakeholders.
� Support event production with graphics, signage, nametags, displays, and other branded materials.
Collaboration & Design Leadership
� Provide design guidance, technical support, and constructive feedback to team members and internal partners to promote consistency and effective use of Firm brand standards.
� Collaborate with attorneys, business professionals, and cross-functional teams to understand project requirements, recommend creative solutions, and deliver responsive internal client service.
� Perform other job-related duties and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications
  • � Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Graphic Design, Visual Communications, Advertising, Studio Art, or a related field required; equivalent combination of relevant education and professional experience may be considered.
    � Minimum of five (5) years of professional graphic design experience required, including experience independently managing complex design projects; experience in a law firm or other professional services environment preferred.
    � Demonstrated portfolio of sophisticated print and digital design work showing strong concept development, typography, layout, composition, color, and brand execution.
    � Advanced proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud, particularly Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator; proficiency with Microsoft Office required.
    � Experience designing for both print and digital channels, including knowledge of print production, color spaces, prepress processes, color separation, grid systems, master pages, file preparation, and vendor production requirements.
    � Experience with web content management systems and marketing automation or CRM platforms; WordPress and HubSpot or DealCloud experience preferred.
    � Working knowledge of basic HTML and digital design considerations for email and web content.
    � Advanced understanding of brand systems and the ability to interpret, apply, and help maintain visual brand standards across varied formats and audiences.
    � Ability to develop creative concepts from business requirements, explain design rationale, receive and synthesize feedback, and guide projects toward effective visual solutions.
    � Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously, including time-sensitive and same-day requests, while maintaining accuracy and quality.
    � Exceptional attention to detail, proofreading, organization, problem-solving, and project-management skills.
    � Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to work effectively with attorneys, business professionals, vendors, and stakeholders at all levels.
    � Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, collaborate effectively as part of a team, and maintain a client service-oriented approach.
    � General familiarity with legal advertising regulations and the ability to apply established compliance requirements to creative work.

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university required; degree in Graphic Design, Advertising, or related field preferred.

Years of Experience:
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive graphic design experience required, with law firm or professional services experience preferred.

Working Conditions:
Normal office environment with little exposure to excessive noise and temperature.
