Job description

Role Description

We're looking for a Junior Graphic Designer who's hungry to grow, eager to learn, and ready to do real work across our direct-to-consumer brands, eyebobs and American Optical. You'll sit on the creative team and report directly to the Art Director, who will be your day-to-day mentor and biggest advocate.

This is a craft role first. You'll be designing across digital channels (where you'll spend most of your time) while also contributing to brand work that supports our wholesale and retail channels. If you love pixel-perfect digital design but also get excited about thinking through brand systems, you'll fit right in.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design digital assets for our DTC brands, including paid social ads, email campaigns, landing pages, web banners, and organic social content.
  • Create A+ PDP content across Amazon and .com to bring products to life where customers shop.
  • Support seasonal launches, promotions, and product drops.
  • Curate and manage brand content assets, including the existing library, campaign outputs, and relevant UGC across channels.
  • Support the Art Director on brand projects, from pitch decks and sales collateral to brand identity refreshes and marketing campaigns.
  • Partner with internal and external stakeholders to deliver outstanding creative work, responding to feedback and iterating based on requests and recommendations.
  • Maintain visual consistency across all touchpoints by working within established brand guidelines, keeping creative continuous across channels so it ladders up from central brand creative.
  • Execute asset post-production and scaling: adapt and resize approved creative assets for all required placements across paid media, email, web, and other channels, and prepare production-ready files for digital and occasional print.
  • Stay on top of design trends, especially in performance creative and digital storytelling, and bring fresh ideas to the team.
  • Take on other duties as assigned as priorities shift.

Bonus Points For

  • Photo editing and retouching skills. We'd love someone who can take a product shot from “fine” to “scroll-stopping”.
  • Video editing experience, especially short-form content for social (Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts) and product or lifestyle cutdowns for paid media. Comfort with Premiere, CapCut, or similar tools.
  • Copywriting instincts. You don't need to be a full copywriter, but if you can write a punchy headline, a clean CTA, or alt copy for an ad variant, that goes a long way on a small creative team.
  • Motion design basics in After Effects or a similar program.
  • Experience designing for performance marketing (A/B testing creative, working with paid media teams).
  • Competency with AI design tools (Adobe Firefly, Midjourney, or similar) to scale creative production, especially for high-volume paid social where speed and volume matter.
  • Familiarity with brand strategy and how design ladders up to business goals.

What You'll Get

  • Direct mentorship from an Art Director invested in your growth.
  • Exposure to a wide range of work across D2C, wholesale and retail across two brands, which will accelerate your skills faster than a single-brand role.
  • A team that values craft, gives honest feedback, and ships work we're proud of.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in graphic design or a related field preferred.
  • One to three years of professional design experience or a strong portfolio that proves you can do the work.
  • A portfolio that shows genuine digital design chops. We want to see ads that stop the scroll, emails that look like someone cared, and landing pages that convert.
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and Figma, and Asana (or other project management tools).
  • A strong eye for typography, layout, color, and hierarchy. The fundamentals matter.
  • Comfort designing for multiple brands with different voices and visual systems. You should be able to switch gears without losing your edge.
  • Solid communication skills. You can explain your design decisions, ask smart questions, and take feedback without taking it personally.
  • A collaborative attitude. You want to grow, you're open to critique, and you bring energy to the team.

Position Details

  • Full-time onsite position based at our Vernon Hills, IL Headquarters (Hybrid Schedule)
