Job Description Summary:
Reports to the Eastview Campus Library in East Austin and primarily provides evening coverage, with flexibility to work daytime and additional evening shifts as needed. Responsible for performing circulation desk computer operations and assisting patrons with directional information. Works at the circulation desk; checks materials in and out; answers phone; and makes phone contact with other Library Services departments regarding circulation desk functions. Opens and/or closes library; keeps statistics; monitors security system, maintains library equipment, and picks up, sorts and delivers mail when appropriate. Performs other related duties as assigned.

  • Performs office duties in support of faculty, staff, and/or student efforts, including word processing, data entry, maintaining files, processing mail, and duplication.
  • Gathers, compiles, and enters data, producing routine reports and documents.
  • Produces handouts, fliers, newsletters, brochures, manuals, and other documents.
  • Answers the telephone, routes calls, or takes messages; responds to and/or directs inquiries in person or on the telephone.
  • May input budget figures, prepares requisitions, logs and tracks expenditures, takes payments, or issues invoices or bills.
  • Maintains tracking systems and logs.
  • Operates office equipment such as copiers and fax machines.
