Job description

Mechanics Bank is currently searching for a Operations Manager to join our team. Here at Mechanics Bank, we value connection, partnership, long term relationships and working together in person. This role will be working at either Irvine Exchange, Cerritos Or Corona Administrative Offices.
The Operations Manager - Account Services oversees daily operations within Account Services, including New Accounts, Back Office Support, Legal Processes, and Retail support functions. This role ensures operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and delivery of high-quality service to internal and external customers.
What you will be doing:
  • Manage and lead Account Services teams supporting New Accounts, Back Office Operations, and Legal Processing.
  • Oversee account opening processes to ensure compliance with bank policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide operational support aligned with retail banking activities and customer service expectations.
  • Manage workflow, productivity, and service level performance across functions.
  • Ensure accurate processing of legal orders, levies, garnishments, subpoenas, and related documentation.
  • Partner with Retail Banking, Risk, Compliance, and Legal teams to ensure alignment and issue resolution.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and implement operational efficiencies.
  • Monitor quality assurance metrics and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Develop, coach, and manage team members to achieve performance goals.
    Maintain strong internal controls and audit readiness.
  • Travel 0-20% (Southern California) Multiple Operations Offices.

Who you are:
  • 5 years minimum of banking operations experience, including New Accounts and back office functions.
  • Prior leadership or management experience required.
  • Strong knowledge of deposit operations, account servicing, and retail banking processes.
  • Experience handling legal processing (e.g., levies, subpoenas, garnishments) preferred.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements.
    Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Pay Range: $81,000 - $100,000 annually
AIP/Bonus: Up to 10%
