As Legal Assistant, you will support contract operations and legal compliance while enhancing cross-departmental collaboration. This role requires expertise in legal documentation, contract administration, and strategic thinking to support successful contract lifecycle management. As part of an exciting and dynamic startup environment, you will also have opportunities to contribute to broader business operations and help shape developing processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Legal & Contract Support:
    • Assist with contract drafting, review, and administration with the Legal team and other functions. 
    • Support compliance with regulatory requirements including but not limited to Federal Acquisition Regulations (FARs), Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplements (DFARs), Export Administration Regulations (EAR), and International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). 
    • Serve as the point-of-contact for contract-related activities and documentation.
    • Track and monitor active contracts and agreements. 
  • Analysis & Documentation: 
    • Analyze contractual obligations and prepare concise summaries for internal stakeholders. 
    • Assess impact of contract modifications and develop risk mitigation recommendations.
    • Assist with the coordination of legal terms and conditions across all functional departments including program management, engineering, and finance.
    • Maintain organized legal files including contracts, correspondence, amendments, and clarifications.
  • Business Operations Support:
    • Assist with general business operations and administrative tasks as needed. 
    • Help develop and implement new processes and procedures.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: 
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Law, or related discipline.
  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience in contract management or legal administration
  • Knowledge of contract law, legal documentation, and industry best practices
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. 
Preferred Qualifications: 
  • Experience in startup, aerospace, defense, or government contracting environments
  • Working knowledge of federal acquisition process, government contracting principles and regulations (e.g., FAR, DFARS, contract-specific flow-downs, etc.)
  • Understanding of export control regulations, such as Export Administration Regulations (EAR), and International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR)
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously without sacrificing quality or timeliness
  • Adaptability and willingness to work outside of defined role parameters as business needs evolve
ITAR Requirements: 
  • This position may include access to technology and/or software source code that is subject to U.S. export controls. To conform to U.S. Government export regulations, applicant must be a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (aka green card holder), (iii) Refugee under 8 U.S.C. § 1157, or (iv) Asylee under 8 U.S.C. § 1158,  or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
