Job description

Position Purpose

This position is responsible for coordinating outpatient and/or facility physician and advanced clinical practitioner (ACP) schedules and templates for medical group practices while troubleshooting physician scheduling issues on a daily basis. This position provides quality and knowledgeable coordination of provider templates, patient scheduling, knowledge of services, visit preparations, accurate patient instructions, and providing customer service to the patients and physicians.

Nature and Scope

The position is required to provide superior service to physicians/advanced clinical practioners and patients for all scheduling and/or template matters. The role is the communication link with the engagement center, clinical staff, referring physicians, our physicians and patients by ensuring schedules are appropriately structured and utilized on a daily basis. May assist with other activities including hospital transfers, arranging care with case managers, assisting with financial resources and answering questions related to scheduled appointments. Position may be responsible for providing patient estimates for services as well as ensuring appropriate documentation is submitted for authorization of services. The role will assist as needed in training clinical staff and engagement center staff for department specific templates and visits/procedures.

The role is also responsible to produce and maintain physician schedules based on daily needs and utilization. The role also facilitates vacations or scheduling changes on physician schedule.

This position does not provide patient care.

Education:

Must have working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing and speaking English. Bachelors of Art or Bachelor of Science in Healthcare is preferred.

Experience:

2-3 years of experience in a clinical setting is required. Minimum of two years of experience in scheduling and authorization of insurance and minimum of two years in a specialty practice is preferred. Knowledge of Medical Terminology is preferred. Background in Healthcare billing is preferred.
