We are seeking a highly organized Senior Project Manager to help establish and drive project management as a new functional capability within our organization. This is a foundational role for someone who can help build a project management structure that will add value within the existing processes and team dynamics to keep work clear, efficient, and accessible for everyone involved.

In this role, you will drive technological innovation in the irrigation industry, helping deliver advanced solutions designed to conserve water and promote sustainable practices. This role is pivotal in driving projects through the stage gate process, ensuring cross-functional alignment, timely execution, and clear documentation throughout the product development lifecycle. The Project Manager acts as a leader for development teams, providing organization and guidance to ensure team members work collaboratively and remain aligned on project goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Influence strategic product development decisions by providing data-driven analysis, scenario planning, and recommendations related to project priorities, resource allocation, timelines, and commercialization readiness. Facilitate alignment between business, product, and development leadership to support portfolio objectives.

  • Lead and manage high-profile product development projects from concept ideation through commercialization, applying a structured stage-gate methodology to ensure projects meet scope, schedule, cost, and quality objectives. Own progression through each gate by coordinating deliverables, reviews, and approvals.

  • Lead cross-functional execution across engineering, industrial design, software, marketing, sourcing, quality, regulatory, and operations teams. Establish project governance, drive accountability for commitments, manage interdepartmental dependencies, and facilitate decision-making to ensure teams remain aligned on priorities, milestones, and business objectives.

  • Partner closely with software and firmware product owners to develop and maintain integrated product delivery plans that align hardware, firmware, mobile application, cloud, and commercialization activities. Manage cross-team dependencies, resource constraints, and critical path schedules to ensure coordinated execution across multiple development organizations and successful on-time product launches.

  • Provide executive-level project visibility through comprehensive program reporting, schedule management, risk assessments, and milestone tracking. Communicate and document project health, resource needs, key decisions, and trade-offs to stakeholders while ensuring alignment with strategic business objectives.

  • Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate project risks related to cost, schedule, technical feasibility, supply chain, and quality. Drive issue resolution through data-driven problem-solving and escalate critical risks or decisions when appropriate to maintain project momentum.

  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources by tracking progress against plans, forecasting impacts, and adjusting priorities as needed. Ensure development efforts remain aligned with business objectives and financial targets.

  • Lead the advancement of project management capabilities across the organization by establishing best practices, improving stage-gate governance, standardizing project reporting, and implementing tools and processes that improve execution and organizational transparency.

Qualifications

  • PMP Certification is preferred

  • 7-10 years of experience managing product development projects, preferably in consumer goods.

  • Experience in leading projects through a stage-gate development process.

  • Experience developing or maturing project management processes, governance models, and organizational best practices.

  • Experience managing complex product development programs involving hardware, firmware, software, cloud, and mobile applications.

  • Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.

  • Experience working in cross-functional teams including R&D, marketing, and supply chain.

  • Familiarity with regulatory and compliance requirements for consumer products.
