JOB SUMMARY
The Director, Talent Development provides strategic leadership for At Home's enterprise talent development, leadership development, learning, and change management strategies. This role partners with executive leadership and HR to build organizational capability, strengthen leadership pipelines, drive succession planning, and foster a culture of continuous learning and high performance. As the steward of enterprise learning and leadership development, the Director champions At Home's values-Create & Inspire, Win Together, Do the Right Thing, Make It Better, and Enjoy the Ride-by embedding them into leadership expectations, talent processes, learning experiences, and organizational change initiatives that support business growth and Team Member success.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Define and execute At Home's enterprise talent development strategy, aligning leadership capability, learning, succession planning, performance management, and organizational development initiatives with business objectives. 
  • Lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of enterprise leadership development programs for Officers, Directors, Field Leadership, and emerging leaders, building a strong leadership pipeline for future growth. 
  • Provide strategic leadership for the company's performance management philosophy and processes, ensuring goal setting, coaching, feedback, and performance conversations reinforce accountability, continuous development, and business results. 
  • Partner with HR Business Partners and executive leaders to lead the annual talent review and succession planning process, identifying high-potential talent, assessing organizational capability, and developing succession strategies for critical positions. 
  • Develop enterprise talent analytics and organizational insights to identify capability gaps, measure program effectiveness, and inform workforce planning and development investments. 
  • Partner with business leaders to translate organizational needs into targeted leadership development, learning, and organizational effectiveness solutions that improve performance and support strategic priorities. 
  • Serve as the enterprise leader for organizational change management by developing change strategies, communication plans, leader toolkits, and learning solutions that support successful adoption of business initiatives and organizational transformation. 
  • Consult with executive leaders on leadership capability, team dynamics, and change readiness to strengthen business performance. 
  • Establish and oversee the enterprise learning strategy, ensuring learning experiences support onboarding, leadership development, compliance, professional development, career growth, and continuous learning. 
  • Own the strategic direction, governance, optimization, and continuous improvement of the Oracle Learn platform, partnering with HRIS and Technology teams to maximize learning effectiveness, user experience, reporting, and adoption. 
  • Lead the organization's DISC assessment strategy and facilitate executive, leadership, and team workshops that strengthen communication, collaboration, self-awareness, leadership effectiveness, and team performance.
  • Evaluate and implement leadership assessments, learning technologies, and development tools that enhance organizational capability and support business growth. 
  • Champion At Home's values by embedding Create & Inspire, Win Together, Do the Right Thing, Make It Better, and Enjoy the Ride into leadership development, performance management, succession planning, learning experiences, and organizational initiatives. 
  • Lead, coach, and develop the Talent Development team, fostering innovation, collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement. 
  • Manage departmental budgets, vendor relationships, and external partnerships to ensure effective program delivery and measurable return on investment. 
  • Continuously evaluate emerging leadership development trends, learning technologies, organizational effectiveness practices, and change management methodologies to ensure At Home remains competitive and innovative.
     

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business Administration, Education, Psychology, or related field required. Master's degree preferred. 
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in Talent Development, Organizational Development, Leadership Development, Organizational Effectiveness, or related Human Resources disciplines, including leadership experience. 
  • Demonstrated success developing and executing enterprise-wide talent, leadership, learning, and organizational effectiveness strategies within a multi-unit organization supporting Stores, Distribution Centers, and Corporate functions. 
  • Deep expertise in leadership development, succession planning, performance management, organizational effectiveness, learning strategy, and organizational change management. 
  • Experience leading enterprise change management initiatives and supporting organizations through transformation. 
  • Proven experience facilitating executive and leadership development programs, workshops, and organizational assessments. 
  • Experience administering or optimizing enterprise Learning Management Systems, with Oracle Learn experience strongly preferred. 
  • DISC Certified Facilitator strongly preferred; experience facilitating DISC workshops and applying behavioral assessments to leadership and team development preferred. 
  • Professional certifications such as SHRM-SCP, SPHR, Prosci Change Management, Korn Ferry Leadership Architect, DDI, Coaching Certification, DISC Certification, or similar credentials preferred. 
  • Strong analytical and consulting skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights and business recommendations. 
  • Exceptional executive presence, communication, facilitation, coaching, and stakeholder management skills. 
  • Demonstrated ability to influence senior leaders, lead through change, and build collaborative partnerships across all levels of the organization.
