Job description

Overview

You're a passionate delivery / logistics leader who brings a confident, people first, and customer centric leadership style. Discover a career designed to be different.

At Room & Board, the leaders of our delivery centers are the foundation of our business; it's crucial they understand their customer, cultivate our culture, develop high caliber teams and contribute to building their business. As a Warehouse Manager / Delivery Leadership Associate, you will report to and be a strong partner to our Delivery Market Manager and the rest of the Local and National delivery leadership team. You will bring your passion as a leader of people to lead, inspire and develop a team of 17 (direct reports) full-service delivery professionals responsible for the prep and delivery of high quality, American-made home furnishings to residential and business customers throughout the local Twin Cities area.

Our delivery center is a 74,000 sq. ft. high volume, fast-paced environment facility comprised of a team of 64 staff members (delivery, merchandise quality, inventory, repair and customer support) serving local and national customers with an average outgoing daily volume of 10,000 cubes representing an average of 185 deliveries per day. The delivery center is also a partner to our local showroom and outlet store and supports several initiatives involving teams at our Central office in Golden Valley and other delivery locations throughout the country. This role requires a leader who thrives in complexity, adapts quickly, and brings clarity and confidence to the team.

Location: 4600 Olson Memorial Highway, Golden Valley, MN

Schedule: 6:00AM to 2:30PM Tuesday - Saturday with additional hours and/or flexibility as needed to fulfill obligations of the role.

You will contribute your talents as a Warehouse Manager / Delivery Leadership Associate in the following ways:

  • Your team is careeroriented and engaged in their work. You will inspire and lead a team that is selfdirected and requires your leadership, not daytoday direction.
  • You genuinely enjoy developing others. You'll offer experiences that enrich individual careers, support their personal and professional growth, and foster a learning environment. You will bring individual strengths together as a unified team.
  • Your staff members find joy in serving the customer. You'll bring a customercentric and supportive leadership style comprised of high standards and integrity as you support a highperforming team in providing a positive and seamless customer experience.
  • You're a strategic, yet handson leader. You'll roll up your sleeves when needed in managing the daytoday while building toward longterm strategy.
  • You're a relationship builder. You'll value building meaningful relationships with your peers. You seek the insight of other leaders and reach out frequently to share ideas, garner feedback and offer your collaboration.
  • You are consistent and fair. You'll create an environment of trust where meaningful feedback is truly seen as a gift.
  • You bring a safetyfirst mindset. You'll strategize and support processes that promote efficiencies and maintain a safe, clean and organized work environment.
  • You're business savvy. You'll support all financial and operational aspects and manage with fiscal responsibility. You understand how your actions affect the near and longterm health of the business.
  • You bring agility and resilience. You remain steady when plans change, unexpected challenges arise, or volume spikes occur. You pivot quickly and confidently, keeping the team grounded and moving forward.
  • You hold high standards of accountability. You address issues in the moment, follow through consistently, and help the team understand expectations clearly and respectfully.

The experiences you'll draw from and the qualifications you'll bring as a Warehouse Manager / Delivery Leadership Associate:

  • Experience in delivery, logistics, transportation, warehouse, distribution and/or retail operations with an operational focus, with 3 to 5 years of effective leadership in leading and inspiring a team of service professionals, ideally in a customerfacing environment.
  • A strong background in delivery operations, including familiarity with DOT requirements, routing, fleet management, and daytoday delivery workflows.
  • A demonstrated confidence, high standards when it comes to detail and organization, and a belief that your success is tied directly to the growth and development of the team you lead and how you treat others.
  • Exceptional communication skills - both verbal and written.
  • A proven ability to stay organized, prioritize effectively, and maintain composure in a fastpaced, highvolume environment.
  • A track record of holding teams accountable, addressing issues promptly, and fostering a culture of trust and high performance.

What you can expect from us as a Warehouse Manager / Delivery Leadership Associate:

  • Salary: $72000 - $82000 / year(depending on experience and demonstrated leadership qualities)
  • Benefits that focus on holistic well-being. The whole person matters, not just the one who shows up for work. That's why we invest in holistic well-being that supports and encourages you to live a full life. Besides a competitive paycheck, we offer benefits to help you thrive in every aspect of life. That includes three weeks of paid vacation, a generous 401(k) match, profit-sharing and more.
