Job-Description: Senior Operations Analyst
Role Summary
The Senior Operations Analyst is a key individual contributor responsible for advanced planning, analytics, and decision support across IPG Photonics operations. This role applies independent judgment, deep analytical expertise, and cross-functional collaboration to improve material planning, inventory optimization, cost efficiency, and operational performance.
Leveling Characteristics
  • Operates independently with minimal supervision.
  • Owns complex analyses, models, and planning processes.
  • Influences decisions across multiple functions through data-driven recommendations.
  • Anticipates operational risks and proactively proposes solutions.

Reporting and Operational Analytics
  • Maintain and optimize automated operational KPIs reports and dashboards to improve transparency, efficiency, and data-driven decision-making within Operations.
  • Perform advanced analysis to identify trends, constraints, and improvement opportunities across IPG Photonics manufacturing processes.
  • Translate complex operational and financial data into actionable insights using clear visualizations and structured communication tailored to diverse stakeholders.
  • Ensure the accuracy, consistency, and timeliness of all operational data, analytics, and reporting outputs.
  • Act as a subject matter expert for production database analytics and reporting supporting multiple product lines.

Cost Optimization and Strategic Support
  • Support cost-reduction and productivity initiatives through detailed analysis of labor, material, throughput, and resource utilization.
  • Partner with the Purchasing Department to analyze cost structures, and support sourcing strategies aligned with IPG's product and margin objectives.
  • Quantify, and prioritize automation and process-improvement opportunities to support scalable manufacturing growth.
  • Provide analytical support for outsourcing, contract negotiations, and make-versus-buy decisions in collaboration with Purchasing and Operations leadership.

Material Requirements Planning (MRP)
  • Lead Material Requirements Planning (MRP) activities by demand into executable inventory and supply plans across multiple product lines.
  • Establish, monitor, and optimize minimum inventory levels for components and assemblies used in manufacturing, incorporating open demand, lead times, capacity constraints, and competing internal priorities.
  • Improve and maintain safety stock calculation methodology to balance production, customer service levels, operational risk, and working capital.
  • Prepare and present monthly inventory, forecast accuracy, and supply risk analyses to Operations leadership, including clear recommendations and mitigation strategies.

  • Minimum 3+ years of relevant analytical experience
  • Deep knowledge in data mining
  • Proficient in Advance Excel, Jet Reports
  • Knowledge with business intelligence tools such as Power BI
  • Knowledge of ERP Navision
  • Advanced analytical skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Bachelor's degree; MBA preferred
