Responsibilities
โข Organization and preparation of filings for family court proceedings
โข Maintenance of electronic case files; document and maintain case details
โข Maintain open and clear communication with clients, keeping them informed and reassured throughout the legal process, as well as working with them to obtain information and evidence for the case
โข Creating Equitable distribution charts and other pleadings under the direction of the attorney
โข Assisting attorneys with drafting, proofreading, filing, and service of correspondence
โข Obtaining and analyzing evidence such as personal financial records, including bank records, taxes, agency reports and filings, school records, and income and salary information (including the creation of spreadsheets and chronologies)
โข Assisting the attorney with drafting discovery responses
โข Assisting with hearing preparation, including the assembly of evidence binders and the coordination of witnesses
โข Conduct thorough legal research to support case strategies and provide valuable insights to the legal team
Qualifications
โข Experience as a Paralegal (3 years preferred)
โข Attention to detail and accuracy to produce error-free, quality documentation
โข Strong organizational skills
โข Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Excel, and Outlook
โข Experience with case/practice management software
โข Experience tracking billable time per case daily in time tracking software
โข Problem-solving skills
โข Ability to follow directions and procedures
โข Time management, the ability to prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines
โข Strong written and verbal communication skills
โข Excellent organizational skills
