Matrimonial Paralegal

We are seeking an experiencedย Matrimonial Paralegal to join our Matrimonial Department in White Plains, NY. This is an excellent opportunity for a reliable, organized, and detail-oriented professional to support attorneys handling matrimonial and family law matters in a fast-paced and client-focused environment.
The successful candidate will be proactive, professional, and comfortable working closely with attorneys, clients, court personnel, and colleagues.
Responsibilities:
- Assist attorneys with matrimonial and family law matters
- Draft and prepare correspondence, pleadings, discovery materials, financial disclosure documents, and other legal documents
- Gather, review, organize, and summarize financial records and case-related documentation
- Maintain and organize electronic and physical client files
- Manage attorney calendars, court dates, meetings, deadlines, and departmental workflow
- Communicate with clients regarding case status, document collection, billing matters, and other case-related needs
- Conduct initial client intakes, gather relevant information, and assist with opening new matters
- Prepare and send engagement letters and track retainers
- Enter attorney time records and assist with reviewing, finalizing, and sending client invoices
- Maintain billing records and assist with accounts receivable and payment tracking
- Coordinate with attorneys and internal departments to ensure deadlines are met
- Provide general administrative and case support to attorneys as needed
Qualifications:
- 3 to 5 years of experience in a paralegal or related legal support role
- Matrimonial or family law experience is strongly preferred
- Experience preparing legal documents and organizing financial records
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple matters and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Comfortable communicating directly with clients, attorneys, and court personnel
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Familiarity with legal billing systems, document management systems, or case management software
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Professional discretion when handling sensitive and confidential matters
- Proactive, dependable, and team-oriented approach
Compensation & Benefits:
- Salary range: $55,000 to $75,000, commensurate with experience
