WHAT YOU'LL DO IN THIS POSITION

The Accounting Assistant supports the Center's financial operations. This part-time role works closely with Center leadership and the Law School Controller's Office to ensure accurate, timely, and policy-compliant processing of payments, reimbursements, and event-related expenses.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process payments and reimbursements for students, contractors, and conference participants

  • Assist with independent contractor pre-approvals and invoice processing

  • Submit spend authorizations and reconcile credit card statements and invoices

  • Manage financial transactions related to Center events, travel, and publications

  • Maintain organized financial records and documentation

  • Support budget tracking, financial reporting, and month-/year-end processes

  • Serve as a resource on University financial policies and procedures

WHAT QUALIFIES YOU FOR THIS ROLE?

Required:

  • Associate's degree and at least 1 year of accounting/finance experience

  • Knowledge of basic accounting principles

  • Strong spreadsheet skills

  • High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively

  • Commitment to confidentiality and integrity

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree and 2 or more years of related experience.
