Summary

Reporting to the Lab Manager, the Lab Chemistย is responsible for running laboratory and small scale pilot water filtration and flotation testing. All testing will be conducted under the guidance of the Lab Manager.

With a foundation of integrity, the candidate would use commitment and creativity to drive our organization forward. This position will be based out of our Calgary Water Solutions location.

Principle Responsibilities and Duties
  • Build lab scale models to test products and equipment design
  • Run laboratory filtration and flotation testing
  • Develop written laboratory proceduresย 
  • Generate data reports from lab testing
  • Clean, monitor and maintain laboratory equipment
  • Keep accurate records of experiments and methodologies
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in chemical technology
Qualifications
  • 5 - 10+ years' experience in oil and gas Laboratory
  • Technical Diploma in Petroleum or Chemical Engineering
  • Mechanical assembly experience
  • Experience in water chemistry and lab analysis
  • Strong understanding of, and the ability to apply scientific methods
  • Demonstrated strong mechanical aptitude with ability to build and assemble lab scale models
  • Strong analytical reporting combined with keen problem solving skills
  • Ability to troubleshoot physical systems
  • Computer skills, specifically Microsoft Excel, Word, and MS Project an asset
  • Excellent time management and a self-starter
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple and changing priorities
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with team members
