Keyera Career OpportunityJobType:Temporary (Fixed Term)

THE POSITION

Keyera is seeking a Temporary Utility Person for our Empress facility. The successful candidate will play a key role in the safe operations on-site and would support both operators and maintenance. This role requires residence within 120KMs of the Empress Facility. This position ends January 2027 as per the collective agreement.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Performs all safety critical PM's (SCBA, Fire Extinguishers, Eye Wash)
  • Assists and performs tasks in the preventive maintenance program along with corrective work orders.
  • Performs assignments such as loading rail cars, monitoring product quality and measurement accuracy, and metering, sampling, and testing procedures.
  • Operations of offsite waste disposal injection well
  • Assists Operations with bulk chemical offloads
  • Operation of onsite lab for product quality testing
  • Assists all trades in CM and PM work order execution
  • Operation of mobile equipment for the purposes of site maintenance and loading/offloading material.
  • Accountable to inform senior personnel of hazard identification and near misses.
  • Demonstrates safe work practices following Keyera's safety policies and procedures

QUALIFICATIONS

The successful candidate will be well-organized, energetic, and service oriented with the following qualifications:

  • A valid Class 5 driver's license and ability to provide 5-year standard driver abstract (clean driver's abstract).
  • Power Engineering or Trade certification an asset
  • Previous experience in an industrial environment an asset
  • Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in various temperatures and environmental conditions.
  • Able to manually lift and handle heavy loads, up to 50lbs.
  • Good oral and written communication skills, ability to collaborate at all levels.
  • Manage customer relationships in a positive and professional manner.
  • Demonstrates an ability to maintain focus doing repetitive tasks.
  • This role requires the candidate to wear respiratory protective equipment. As per Alberta OHS 250(2), the candidate must ensure an adequate seal where the face piece of the equipment seals to the skin of the face.
  • This role is subject pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol testing and ongoing compliance with the company's Drug and Alcohol Policy.
