A junior recruiter works in the Human Resources department of a company to assist with the hiring process. As a junior recruiter, you play a significant role in finding the right candidates for job openings. Other duties include posting job openings, screening resumes, contacting candidates, scheduling interviews, and coordinating background and drug tests. Typically reporting to a senior recruiter, you work with both candidates and hiring managers frequently, so you need to have strong interpersonal and organizational skills. You also complete on-the-job training to learn about the company’s specific Human Resources policies. It’s not uncommon for junior recruiters to build relationships with local hiring managers and look for potential candidates through their own research.
