In this role, which is a new position for the Aertssen US business, you’ll work closely with (and often directly alongside) the Director of Finance amp; Administration. You’ll be the go-to person for anything related to controlling, reporting, insights, and analysis. You’ll help shape how we understand our business, build tools and models that drive smart decisions, and contribute to the financial foundation of a rapidly growing company.
This role is ideal for someone who:
  • Gets excited about the idea of building something, not just maintaining it
  • Wants to understand how the business truly works
  • Takes ownership, thinks critically, and wants to grow into a key finance partner
  • Is enthusiastic, upbeat, and invested in the company’s success
  • Values close collaboration with leadership and being trusted with meaningful work
  • Isn’t afraid to jump into new tasks, even if it's new territory
Key Responsibilities
Financial reporting and analysis
  • Prepare and improve monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting.
  • Analyze financial and operational performance, identify trends, and highlight risks/opportunities.
  • Build dashboards, KPIs, and matrix reports that deliver clear, actionable insights.
  • Help ensure data quality and consistency across all reporting.
Budgeting and forecasting
  • Support the full budgeting and forecasting process.
  • Work closely with the department leads to understand assumptions and challenge them when needed.
  • Track performance against budget and forecast, and help explain the underlying story.
Closing activities
  • Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities in close collaboration with the accounting department.
  • Review and analyze key P amp;L and balance sheet accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Ensure deadlines for internal and group reporting are met consistently.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline closing-related tasks.
Business partnering
  • Collaborate with the different operational teams, sales, and other departments to understand how daily decisions impact financial results.
  • Bring financial insights to non-financial colleagues in a clear, helpful way.
  • Build strong partnerships across the organization and act as a trusted sounding board.
Strategic support and insights
  • Help prepare business cases for new investments, expansion opportunities, and strategic decisions.
  • Develop financial models and scenarios that support long-term planning.
  • Contribute to analysis that shapes the direction of our U.S. operations.
Process and system improvement
  • Help standardize and streamline our finance processes as we grow.
  • Identify gaps or bottlenecks and propose improvements.
  • Support the development or rollout of new systems, tools, or reporting structures.
All this is always carried out in accordance with our company's quality, environmental, and health policies.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field.
  • 3-5 Years of experience in controlling, FP amp;A, or a related field.
  • CPA, CMA, CFA, or in the process of obtaining one or more, is required.
  • Strong analytical skills and a natural curiosity for what drives the numbers.
  • Solid Excel and modeling skills; experience in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations (D365 F amp;O) is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills and the confidence to collaborate across departments.
  • A positive mindset, eagerness to learn, and enthusiasm for being part of a fast-growing business.
  • Some out-of-state and overnight travel is required ( lt;10%).
Our Culture (A work in progress!)
At Aertssen, our motto is “People, Power, and Passion to Build On.” That’s the culture we are working toward. Today, we’re a high-output, operations-driven environment where decisions move quickly, and leadership is deeply engaged in the day-to-day business.
Why Join Us?
  • Opportunity to make a real impact in a high-volume, startup-like environment.
  • Be part of a diverse, international organization with a strong operational focus.
  • Work alongside dedicated and hardworking team members who value collaboration and accountability.
