They work under the supervision of senior procurement professionals, learning about negotiation, supplier evaluation, and compliance with company policies. Junior Procurement staff often help with administrative duties and gain exposure to the end-to-end procurement cycle, making it a great starting point for a career in supply chain or purchasing.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a junior procurement?

To thrive as a Junior Procurement Specialist, you need a basic understanding of supply chain management, negotiation, and purchasing processes, often supported by a degree in business or a related field. Familiarity with procurement software (like SAP or Oracle), spreadsheets, and possibly certifications such as CIPS or CPSM is beneficial.
