The Senior Buyer, Transportation Procurement, is responsible for sourcing, category execution, and supplier management across key North American transportation categories, with primary responsibility for Less-than-Truckload (LTL), Bulk Tanker, and Small Parcel. This role supports approximately $55 million in spend across 20+ suppliers. The Senior Buyer will partner closely with Logistics, Operations, Business Units, R&D, and corporate functions to support transportation procurement priorities across the North American zone
Job Description
Transportation Category Ownership and Optimization
• Manage category strategies across key North American transportation categories, including LTL, Bulk
Tanker, and Small Parcel
• Partner with Logistics and business stakeholders to align transportation solutions with cost, service, and
operational requirements
• Drive sourcing execution, supplier management, contract management, and performance tracking
across assigned categories
• Track category results and value delivery across assigned transportation categories
• Analyze market trends, supplier dynamics, business requirements, and cost drivers to inform category
priorities
• Identify and prioritize value-generating opportunities based on business impact, implementation
complexity, and supply risk
• Manage a pipeline of category and sourcing initiatives aligned with procurement objectives and business
priorities
Strategic Sourcing and Contract Management
• Lead sourcing projects and RFx processes across assigned transportation categories
• Own supplier selection, negotiation, and award decisions in alignment with procurement and strategic
sourcing standards
• Execute and manage contracts in accordance with company policies, legal requirements, and business
needs
• Apply total cost of ownership principles to sourcing decisions, balancing cost, service, and operational
requirements
• Ensure strategic sourcing processes are applied consistently across projects
• Support continuous improvement and process discipline across sourcing and contract management
activities

Requirements:
Education:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience:
• 3-5+ years of experience in indirect procurement, transportation procurement, logistics, or a related field
• Experience managing sourcing events, supplier negotiations, contract execution, and supplier performance across assigned categories
• Experience working with cross-functional stakeholders in a matrixed business environment
• Experience in transportation categories such as LTL, small parcel, truckload, or bulk transportation is preferred
Computer Skills:
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Power BI, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Familiarity with source-to-pay, eProcurement, RFx, Ariba, SAP, and OTM tools
• Experience with supplier performance, analytics, or risk management tools is a plus
Communication Skills:
• Strong written, verbal, presentation, and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to communicate data, insights, and recommendations clearly across multiple levels of the organization
• Ability to influence stakeholders and suppliers without direct authority
Special Skills:
Must have experience developing long-term business strategies, specifically establishing strategic direction based on insights into external market indices, the global supply chain, and the organization's overall capabilities. Recognized as a quick learner and knowledgeable in respective fields. Develops strategies that align the function with organizational goals and generate results that have a positive impact on the function or business unit. Must have experience in the sourcing life cycle process and a strong grasp of the tools needed to complete the process.

Travel:
May require up to 3 domestic trips a year.
New Hire Base Salary Range:
$89,800.00 - $112,200.00
Bonus: This position is eligible for a performance-based bonus as provided by the plan terms and governing documents.
