RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client in San Antonio, TX that is seeking a Junior Level UX Designer.
Overview:
We are seeking a Junior UX Designer to join a dynamic, fast-paced design team focused on creating innovative, user-centered digital experiences. This role is ideal for early-career designers-either recent design school graduates or candidates with 1-2 years of professional experience-who are eager to grow, collaborate, and contribute meaningfully from day one.
In this role, you will apply human-centered design principles, collaborate closely with cross-functional partners, and help design intuitive digital experiences for native mobile applications. Some UI experience is a plus.
Key Responsibilities:
* Apply human-centered design concepts and methodologies, including the Double Diamond framework, throughout the design process
* Design intuitive, engaging user experiences for native mobile applications
* Collaborate with digital product managers, developers, data analysts, and legal partners to balance user needs with business and compliance requirements
* Collect, analyze, and synthesize user feedback through qualitative research methods such as interviews and usability testing
* Leverage quantitative data to validate design hypotheses and inform design decisions
* Create wireframes, mockups, and prototypes using a combination of digital tools and traditional sketching techniques
* Utilize and experiment with AI tools to explore new and innovative user experience concepts
* Participate in design critiques, team meetings, and feedback sessions
* Support senior designers with user research, analysis, and design documentation
This design team supports new and existing member experiences, including:
* Account creation and onboarding
* Personalization initiatives
* Loyalty, recognition, and ongoing member engagement
REQUIREMENTS:
* Demonstrated understanding and application of human-centered design methodologies, including the Double Diamond
* Experience designing for native mobile applications
* Familiarity with qualitative user research methods and using quantitative data for validation
* Proficiency with design tools and strong visual and interaction design fundamentals
* Clear communication, collaboration, and critical thinking skills
* Strong enthusiasm for learning, experimentation, and contributing to a high-performing team
* Strong interest in AI-powered user experiences
* Curiosity and enthusiasm for integrating AI into the design process
* Open mindset toward future-forward, experimental thinking
Hands-on or academic experience with:
* Adobe Creative Suite
* Figma
* Mural
Daily Use of Tools Includes:
* Designing wireframes, mockups, and prototypes in Figma
* Creating visual assets using Adobe Creative Suite
* Facilitating ideation and collaboration sessions using Mural
* Incorporating AI tools into concept exploration and experience design
* Using sketching (pencil and paper) to explore and iterate on ideas
Portfolio Requirement
* Portfolio recommended showcasing user-centered design work
* Academic or school projects are acceptable and encouraged
Ideal Candidate Profile:
* Junior-level designer, fresh out of design school or with 1-2 years of experience
* Eager to -hit the ground running- and learn from a collaborative design team
* Passionate about building innovative, meaningful digital experiences
* Comfortable working onsite and participating actively in team collaboration
Preferred:
* Graphic design or animation experience (especially for social media)
* Basic UI design experience
* Experience contributing to collaborative design critiques
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
